Card report at UCW
EXETER - Under the leadership
of Laura Dickey the business sec-
tion of the Exeter afternoon UCW
began with a 'card' report by Audrey
McRoberts. Audrey also gave some
instructions regarding the Bazaar to
be held November 12.
It was also reported that the Re-
gional meeting will be held in Hen-
sall October 24, cars to leave the
church at 6 p.m.; church calendars
are for sale; new children's books
are in the library; Friendship House
box should contain paper towels,
toilet paper, Pampers, soap etc;
Christmas Bureau win be held in
Exeter United Church and thanks
was received from the Board for the
S5,000 donation.
Marion Porter's group was in
charge of the program. Audrey Mac-
Gregor and Gerry Bornath favored
with a vocal duet.
Marion and her group Velma
Huff, Hazel Snell, Dorothy Bullock
and Marion Dearing read Scriptural
and secular passages on Thanksgiv-
ing.
- Marion Dearing introduced Sally
Lawton from the Town and Coun-
try Homemakers. Discussion
stressed the Diners' Club, Tele-
phone Reassurance and Transporta-
tion projects.
A brief history of South Africa
by Marion Dearing began the year's
'Africa' study.

services two weeks ago, Rev. Hen-
ry VanEssen conducted our services
last week. Thank you to Rev.
VanEssen for his patience with our
construction. Worship service was
held in the lounge for ttye Lodge.

Hopefully we will soon 'be using,
our new activity room for worship.
Residents enjoyed their Thanks-
giving Dinner just prior to the holi-
day. Several residents had assisted
in baking the pumpkin pies aril
that seemed to make them taste just
