. The United Church Women met
on Thursday evening October 6.
Mary Elder, Jeanette Lamport pre-
sented the devotional lirogramme on
Thanksgiving. Roll call ;was a
Childhood Memory from the family
farm. A quiz on Food Farm facts
was held. A film strip on "Crisis
on Farming in Africa" . was shown
and compared to the same situations
in Canada.
Mary Kenney presided for busi-
ness, opening with a U.C.W. Pur-
pose and a Thanksgiving poen.

CREDITON - Crediton Club I
and II held their first 4-H meetings
on Thursday, September 29 at the
Community Hall. Roll call was an-
swered by naming one reason why
we should eat meat.
We then tested our I.Q. on the
'things meats provide us with etc.
Crediton Club I and 11 held their
second meeting on Thursday, Octo-
ber 6 at Lorna Finkbeiners. Roll
call was answered by describing
your families favourite meat dish
and how it was cooked.
At this meeting 'we .discussed
meat inspection, meat graded for
quality, buying meats, the cost per
serving and which is the best buy
etc. The girls cooked Terrific Tacos,
Potato skins, and Oriental Vegeta-
ble Beef Stir -Fry. Each girl sampled
and approved. Linda Finkbeiner re-
ported on final arrangements for our
Fall Festival October 22 - 10:00
a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
It_ was decided to pack a bale,
clothing to tic brought in by the
second week in November. Mary
Elder was presented with' a parting
gift by Jean Neil and Bernice Fritz.
Lunch was served by lunch com-
nyttec.

KIPPEN - A Thanksgiving ser-
vice was celebrated al St. Andrews
Church in Kippen on Sunday, Oc-
tober 9, when Rev. Lorne Keays
preached on "Gratitude in all Cir-
cumstances". •
"Fhe ministry of music was pro-
vided by the choir singing "Lord
We Thank "Thee".
Next Sunday, October 16 is Kip -
pen's Anniversary service at I1
a.m. Guest preacher will be Mr.
Doug Schade of Dashwood.

Kippen East will hold their educa-
tion meeting on Wednesday, Octo-
bet* 19 at 8:30 p.m. At the home of
Dorothy Bell, Exeter. Roll call is
to be answered by naming your first
school and telling where it was lo-
cated. Wrap up an old hat to sell;
buyer must wear it all evening.

turned home Tuesday after spending
the past few days at Kettle Point.

Don Fahner of Brantford and Ron
Fahner of Huron Park spent the
holiday weekend visiting relatives
in Dearborn, Michigan.
