connect the building into the Zurich
water Aupply system. ' .Village
councillors are worried that a more -
obvious supply of water is being
ignored.
The Blue -Water Rest Home has
reportedly offered .use of. their well
to the church. .But the Mennonite
Church rejected the offer.
"I think strongly they should take
the alternative source because it's
only 200 feet to the well," said
councillor herb Turkhcim.
The church will have 12- toilets
and will require water for maintain-
ing the landscaping.
"fin afraid we'll be accused of tak-
ing water a half mile out of town
-when we don't have enough for our
own purposes," added Turkhcim.
Reeve Bob Fisher wasn't con
vinced Zurich had enough of a water
shortage to deny water to one
church. -
-•What's the difference between a
house -and a. church?" asked Fisher. •
- Turkhcini suggested the reason
the church has not accepted the Rest
home's offer of well water is due to -
a personality confliet.between the
people involved.
'If they've got -a conflict then .let
thelia work it out," said councillor
Paul Morrison. •
Council will urge the Mennonite
Church to take a closer look at the
. Rest home's offer• and will meet
soon to decide what action should
be taken on the issue. -
Rau Broth3rs Construction has.
-.won the contract to replace the
roofs on both .the. municipal build-
ing and its garage. .
Thc garage will cost 51,360 for
re -roofing and the municipal build-
ing will cost S1,755• unless it is -de-
termined that new metal sheeting is
required, which would add SI,108 to
the bill.
