at Z- rich
ZURIC Many people arc now
vacationing, which means we arc
having a good number of visitors
who bring a bit of joy to the resi-
dents.
On Wednesday afternoon, some
of our residents were able to go on
a bus ride through Bayfield, a spot
they enjoy visiting.
On4Thursday evening, one of our
student nurses and Catherine
Shantz staged a Green Night for
the residents. Everyone 'was expect-
ed to wear something: green, played
games, and enjoyed singing, fol-
lowed by a marshmallow roast in.
the courtyard: Needless to say this
was a first for some of our 90 -year-
olds and some of the younger. ones—)
who never had the time to relax.
Some cold lemonade helped to cool
them off.
Despite the heat, it is never too
hot for the residents to want to
miss Bingo which was played on
Friday evening.
Rev. Brian Elder had charge of
the Sunday evening chapel service.
Lucan Revival
Centre news
LUCAN - Tim Kritzer led the
worship in song Sunday morning at
the Lucan Revival Centre. Schink-
leshock ministered from Habakkuk
3:17-19, Acts 8:4-8, and John- 151-
11,- stressing that your joy may be
full. . -
There is joy in happiness that
you can buy. But happiness is
short. Joy is forever from abiding
in Jcsus. The more you allow God
to live in you the more you have
real joy inside. Joy is knowing God
is near.
A Christian can wort: very hard in
his church, but unless there is joy
in his heart, it is a farce. Thc only
way a church can be filled is for the
joy of the Lord to be there. When
Jesus' joy is in your heart, that joy
will rub off on another to encourage
them.
Schinkleshock read a poem of a
person finding joy in simple
things. You can feel that joy when
you have Jesus in your heart.
Pieter Schinkleshoek introduced
Rev. David Mollard, Director of
Hebron Farms, as guest speaker for
the Sunday evening service.
Rev. Mollard spoke from Deute-
ronomy 17:6-7. Galatians 3:23 •
says all have sinned, making us.all
worthy of death. But God had a.
plan, as He wishes to give us life.
Rev. Mollard stated that Hebron
Farms is refuge for ex convicts
who have committed their lives,to
God.

Delegations at Stanley council
VARNA - A public meeting on a
proposed zoning bylaw amendment
was part of the regular session of
the only July meeting called by
Stanley township council. A num-
ber of propeny.owners were on hand
co -hear the discussion about Ross.
Carter's proposal to buy part of lot
4, concession 1 from Bill Coleman
and establish a farm implement deal-
crshfp on Highway 4 north of Kip -
pen.
Caner explained that he has the
Ford -New Holland dealership for the
area from Goderich to Centralia, and
Kippcn is the central point. Anoth-
er reason for locating in Stanley is
because he already owns property in
the township.
Lloyd Cooper wanted to know
how this would affect the Cooper
drain. Clerk Mel Graham assured
him that no buildings, trees or pave-
ment can be nearer than 25 feet, and
any damage to the drain would be
charged to thc party responsible. •
Carter told adjacent property own
er Jack Pepper the site will be kept
clean and well maintained.
Topping the List of concerns from
the county planner was whether or
not highway access had been grant-
ed.
A decision was deferred until
Carter obtains a severance. He and
council would- then work together
to develop a site plan acceptable to
the township before a building per-
mit would be issued.
Tom Consitt met with council
and the planner to ask why a zon-
ing change is required on a 140 -
acre parcel of land that was origi-
nally two lots when first sold by
the Canada Co. He wants to trans-
fer 80 acres to his son, and retain
the remaining 60.
County planner Cindy Fishcr ex-
plained that as neither lot meets
the minimum lot size of 97 acres,
part of the severance process re-
quires a zoning change from AG1
to AG -4.
Beatrice Cove from the Crest
Bcach subdivision attended to ask
if the municipality plans to take
over the subdivison roadway, as
she feared subdivision developer
Phil Durand might close the road;
and cut off access to her property
along the lake.
Reeve Clarence Rau explained
that the township will assume the
Page 9
road when legal formalities over•
the required 66 foot allowance have
been worked out between Durand -
and Howard Hemminger, owner of
the adjacent property.
Cove stated her intention of at-
tending every council meeting until
the issue is resolved.
Complaints have been received
from residents, along the Goshen
about abandoned cars and scrap
metal on a, property, which violates
the property standards bylaw passed
last month. Building inspector and
bylaw officer Herman Van Wieran
said he will notify the -property
owner, but wants assurance the
complaintants would testify in
court if the matter went that -far.
A public meeting to discuss the
proposed water pipeline along
Highway 21 is scheduled for Au-
gust 27.gt 10:00 a.m. in the coun-
cil chamber-. The engineer's report
.will be'presented, giving property
owners a fairly accurate estimate of
what the line will cost them indi-
vidually.
The budget will be presented and
the 1988 mill rate set the first reg-
ular August council meeting.
