Peter Derrick was in charge of anniversary service at St. Patrick's church Sun- day and took his text from Romans 5:1-5 and he told the story of St. Patrick's life. Mrs. Margaret Carroll and Robbie Gee were readers - during the children- period Rev. Derrick presented the children with a crest which was drawn by Robbie Gee, Robbie explained the mean- ing of the symbols. The sacrament of Holy Communion followed. Mrs. Whitmore, Toronto spent the weekend with Mr. Superintendent gets honours Sy MRS. ROBERT LAING Cromarty Muriel B. Scott, who was superintendent of Cromarty Sunday School from 1953 till the end of 1982, was honored for her 30 years of service at Sunday morning's church ser- vice. An address was read by Jean Carey, and Mrs. Scott was presented with a plaque by Christopher Scott and an album of photos of her former Sunday School pupils by Sherri Elliott. Guests were greeted at the door by Hannah Miller and Jean Carey. The present Sun- day School children entered to the processional hymn, Jesus Loves Me, and during the ser- vice sang three numbers with Carol Ann Scott accompanying. The responsive reading was led by Margaret Laing and John Scott and Alice Gardiner read the Old and New Testa- ment scriptures respectively: The offering was received by. Tom Laing, Dennis Elliott, Betty Anne Miller, Pam Wallace, and Alec Scott and was dedicated by Rob Templeman. In his sermon Rev. Kenneth Knight, spoke on the Sowing of the Seed, comparing the seed in the parable with the Seed that is sown in Sunday Sch000l. Following the service, lunch was served and an hour of visiting with the guests was enjoyed. and Mrs. Barry Jeffery and boys. Church Service Rev. Robert Matheson was in charge of the church ser- vice on Trinity Sunday. He told the children a story entitl- ed "How Many Are You?" The Scripture Lesson was read from Numbers 6:22-27, Romans 5:1-5, John 10:12-15. The sermon was titled "Life Is Like A Quarry." Celebrating Trinity Sunday offers us the ppportunity to contrast the holiness or wholeness of God with our own emptiness or in- completeness.
