The May meeting of the
Hurondale Women's Institute
was held in the Usborne
school with the president Mrs,
Fern Dougall lighting the can-
dle for Senior Citizens Week
to be held in June.
Roll call was answered with

Ondrejicka, RR 1, Exeter are happy to announce the for-
thcoming marriage of their daughter Teresa to Peter
Duenk, son of William and Anne Duenk, Luton. The
wedding will take place Saturday, June 4 at 3:30 p.m.
at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Lucon. Recep-
tion to follow.

MR. AND MRS. DAN ELLIOTT
Charlotte Gingerich and Daniel Elliott exchanged mar-
riage vows May 14 at the Zurich Mennonite Church with
Rev. Clayton Kuepfer officiating. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cleve Gingerich, Grand Bend
and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Elliott, Clinton are parents of
the groom. The maid of honour was Marlene Estep and
bridesmaids'wereCarol Gascho,Kathy Martin and Vicki
Schroeder. Valerie Lynn Gingerich was flowergirl and
Ryan Oesch was-ingbearer. The groomsman was Ray
Bland and guests were ushered by Clifford Gjngerich,
Glenn Gascho and Shane Elliott. After a wedding trip
to northern Ontario the couple is residing at RR 3,

Pentecostal ladies
recite seed verses
The May meeting of . the
Women's Ministries of the
Pentecostal Tabernacle was
held at the home of Mrs. Jen-
ny Kipfer in Hensall with 18
members present.
The meeting was opened by'
singing hymns "Bringing in
the Sheaves" and "Wonderful
Story of Love." Prayer was
offered by Edith Millar and
all sang "0 Happy Day".
The roll call was answered
with a Scripture verse con-
taining "seed."
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by Shirley
Prouty and adopted. Thank
you cards were read from the
Blanchard family and also
Mary and Cliff Blanchard for
serving refreshtnents at their
50th wedding anniversary.
Also a thnk you card from
Larry Prouty and friend.
The financial report was
given by Jean Jolly. Poems
entitled "Real House Clean- •
ing" and "Prayer for Spring
Cleaning."
The missionary reading
was given by Elaine Kinsman
about Austin Chawner in
Africa, on Bible training and
literature. Prayer for mis-
sionaries was offered by Mrs.
Connie Donnan.
The message of the after-
noon was given by Dorothy
Cooper. Her theme, "The
Ministries of Women on
Power in Prayer and in the
Name of Jesus."
Ruth McLaren read an ar-
ticle entitled "Everyone
Needs a Friend."
Prayer time followed after
which a delicious lunch was
served by Jennie Kipfer and
idena Desjardine and Mrs.
Dorothy Hookey.
one's favorite beauty spot.
Demonstrations and skits
were put on by the 4-11 girls
clubs. The story of maple
syrup was told with skits,
eating with chop sticks, and
girls dressed in Dutch
costumes eating in
restaurants with Canadian
menus.
Mrs. Mabel Stanlake gave
an interesting motto on "Just
when you think you are mak-
ing both ends meet, someone
moves the end." A sing song
was led by Fern Dougall with
Ann Brodie at the piano'. A
humorous reading The Inn
Keeper, was given by Bernice
Jeffery. Contests were given
out by Mrs. Ann Keller and
answered.
The minutes of the last
meeting were read by the
secretary. Some tickets are
available for the bus trip on
June 28 for a two hour boat
trip on the St. Clair river and
tour of the Oil Springs
Museum. Contact Mrs.
Gerald McFalls if you are
interested.
Any member wanting
tickets for the play The
Miracle Worker, at the Grand
Bend Playhouse July 27 call
the secretary Mrs. Don Bray

members met April 5 at the
home of Shirley Walkom in
Mitchell. It was Nostalgia
Evening with everyone
displaying old hats or
jewellery.
Eillen Ross reported tliat

Daffodil Day for the Cancer
Society.
The election of officers was
held and the results were:
president, Shirley Walkom;
vice-president, Elsie Tuckey;
recording secretary, June
Essery; corresponding
secretary, Marie Beaver, and
treasurer, Donna Webster.
Shirley and Bev Delbridge
presented a fashion show of
hats which were all beautiful-
ly made by Shirley. The
models were Mary Jane
Taylor, Pat Fletcher and Bev.
Refreshments were served by
the committee in charge.
The chapter attended the
play, Annie Get Your Gun on
April 20. After the play they

went to the home of Elsie Wit-
teveen where she and Pat
Fletcher served lunch. -
Beta Theta members join-
ed with their sister chapters
from Exeter, Mitchell,
Goderich and Clinton for
Founder's Day on April 26.
A delicious pot luck dinner
was held at the home of
Maude Connon, May 24.
Perfect attendance awards
were presented to June

na Webster. Leona Amos
presented a 30 year member-
ship award to Shirley
Walkom. June Essery receiv-
ed the Girl of the Year Award.
