Agri -Builders optimistic farm construction on rise Owners of MF Agri Builders in Exeter are very optimistic about an increase in farm and industrial con- struction in 1983. Cliff Marsden who heads up the company with partner Ray Field says, "I am very positive about this year. We have one major project in Goderich and a couple of others are close to becoming realities. MF Agri Builders were established in 1976 and mov- ed to the Exeter location in the former Ontario Hydro building at the south end of town in January 1980. MF have constructed buildings for Big 0 Tile Drain, Kongskilde, N.L. Monteith in Exeter, Vincent Farm Equip- ment in Seaforth and Woodstock and Bank of Nova Scotia facilities in Port Dover, Linwood, Belmont and Pem- broke and Bayfield Boats in Clinton. Marsden -Field Associates Limited operate MF Agri Builders in farm construction and grain handling and storage equipment and MF Builders and Designers specialize in commercial and industrial construction. In the farm field, all steel farm buildings and grain storage and handling equip- ment account for most of MF Agri Builders business. Marsden said 1982 business was heavier in agricultural with a slowdown in industrial. He added, "There was no ma- jor industrial construction this past winter. It was a sign of the times." He continued, "Sales were down a half million dollars in 1981, levelled out last year and I hope will come back in 1983 with the much lower in- terest rate helping a lot. It should be the year to build as far as costs are concerned." MF Agri Builders are builders for Butler Manufac- turing and are the largest grain bin retailer in this area and hope to construct a per- manent facility in Exeter in the near future. Marsden concluded, "We are very positive about the growth of Exeter and want to be part of it." MF Agri Builders employ an average of nine to 10 employees with, this figure rising to 15 to 20 during peak periods.
