boys basketball team brought
home the 1983 Huron -Perth

Huron's first since 1963. The
team celebrated in true
Huron County style as they
took the firetruck around
Exeter.
South Huron's exciting win
over Stratford Northwestern
Huskies Tuesday was not in
the Panthers' claws until the
last minute when Stratford's
fouling gave SH the final
65-62 advantage.

won by 22 points. Nor-
thwestern's shots were hitting
the mark from a 30 ft. radius.
O'Rourke said "We used
three different defenses and
finally shut them down."
Although South Huron was
down by 7 at the half John Mol
and Kevin Parsons superb
playing helped them to nar-
row the third quarter score to
49-48. Exeter's defense was
effective and Mol was suc-
cessful in rejecting many
Huskie shots.
Fouls .ended the fourth
quarter duel as the two teams
matched basket for basket.
O'Rourke noted that despite
this was his team's first II -P
final. "they played with
control."
South Huron cut down their
turnovers considerably. six
turnovers compared to the

aggressively, scoring 12
points. John McAllister kept
the team together as he and
Brent Atthill each had nine
points.
Defensively Steve Riddell
was responsible for the
Huskies low scoring in the se-
cond half and also scored
eight points.
The South Huron squad
worked diligently all season
for this championship. Their
overall record was an im-
pressive 32 wins and 14 losses.
