Hazel and families and Onah and families. toe May continue fight for funds Exeter may continue the fight to regain lost taxes through the ' assessment reductions given to local homeowners who have in- sulated with urea for- maldehyde foam. Reeve Bill Mickle told coun- cil this week that the local assessment dropped $37,103 last year, due primarily to the 35 percent reduction given to homeowners with the insula- tion. Ile said the loss in tax dollars will be about 85,000 this year. Council had written both senior levels of government in an attempt to get some assistance for the lost revenue but those efforts were in vain. Monday, Councillor Gaylan Josephson suggested council send a resolution to the On- tario Association of Municipalities calling on the federal and provincial governments to reimburse municipalities for the lost revenue. The matter was turned over to the general government committee. Mickle also advised council this week .that government grants for Exeter this year will increase by slightly under one percent, or $3,711. Will consider concert plan A committee, to consider , the possiblity of community concerts in Grand Bend dur- ing the late fall and early spring of 1983 and 1984, (net at the Grand Bend Library Mon- day morning. Spokesperson Dawn Crabe has been approached by Youth & Music Canada to see if a concert series might be welcome in Grand Bend. Pro- fessional musicians would be available for a minimum of four concerts. The success of an earlier concert of local musicians has prompted theinterest inform- ing the committee. In April they will investigate the idea further at another meeting. The Grand Bend United Church and the Playhouse 11 building are being considered as possible locations for concerts. %Dela UCAN Fri. & Sat. 11rs Buzz11 Ailsa Craig UCW plan special events The United Church Women met February 9 with 18 members present.
