terra -gator at Co -Op
Area farmers will have the
opportunity to take advantage
of increased liquid fertilizer
application facilities thanks to
the purchase of new equip-
ment by the Exeter and
District Co -Operative.
Purchase of a new terr-
agator was approved recent-
ly by Co -Op board of directors
and the new machine arrived
this week and will be raring to
go when farmers are ready to
apply fertilizer.

The Exeter District Co•
Operative was established on
September 25, 1944 with the
late William Oestreicher as
the first president.
Headquarters in the ttegin-
ning were in the old Opera
]louse building in the area of
the present McKerlie
Automotive property before
moving to the present location
on Brock street between Well-
ington and Victoria.
The Co -Op has grown dur-
ing the past 10 years with the
acquisition of the former
Cann's Mills and Brockville
fertilizer plants and the addi-
tion of a lumber division.
The Co -Op staff has grown
to 18 full-time and two part-
time employees. The com-
pany which has well over 700
farmer members deals in a
full line of lumber, feeds,
seeds, fertilizer, chemicals,
petroleum, hardware, con-
tracts for crops and grain
marketing services:
Total sales in 1982 were •
$5,753,806 This is a steady in-
crease from 1978 when total
sales were $2,914,909.
John Oke is the new presi-
dent of the board of directors
with Jim Morlock as vice-
president and Jim Dougall as
director. The other directors
are past president Gerald
McBride, Eric Kints, Edwin
Miller, Stan Francis,
Wayne Rowe and'Cliff Hicks.

This MF698 four-wheel-drive tractor is one of -22 newly introduced
