'Discover your colours' is learning for lent topic
Second annual snopitch fun day this Saturday
The second annual sno-
pitch and fun day will be held
this Saturday Feb. 12 at the
Zurich arena park. Included
in the day along with the sno-
pitch tournament which gets
underway at 10 a.m. and last
game played -at 7 p.m. There
will also be free ice skating
for the kids from 2:15.4 p.m.
and free horse and cutter
rides in the park from 1-3 p.m.
And at the end of the last
championship game a free
dance will be held in the
auditorium. All these ac-
tivities . have no admission
charge and everyone is
welcome to attend. Last year
was a great success and
everyone had a good time.
There will be 1-8 registered
teams competing fol- $500.00
in cash prizes. The games are
only 45 minutes long or seven
innings. Each team must field
10 players with 3 being girls.
The team batting uses their
own pitcher, using fluorescent
balls, and only gets two
chance to hit. It's expected to
be a,tot of fun so don't miss
it. Also be sure and visit the
"warm-up room" featuring
hot meals and great turkey
burgers and pizza subs.
Learning for tent
There has been a change in
first program of the Learning
for Lent series which will be
held from Feb. 16 to March 16.
The topic will be "Discover
your Colours" under the
direction of Ruth (manse and
Wendy McNamara beginning
at 9:30 a.m. Registration at
9:15 a.m. at the United
Church.
Rest Home Auxiliary
The ladies auxiliary held
their monthly meeting •on
Feb. 1. Lovely piano and
organ selections were played
by Grace Martin and her
sisters - which were just
beautiful. A valentine theme
lunch of decorated cupcakes
were enjoyed by all.
President Margaret
Gingerich welcomed
everyone and the 23 members
who stayed for the meeting.
The quilt that was just corp- in it from Zurich were Kerry-
pleted was on display for all Lynn•Deitz, Kathy Merner,
to see. Tickets are being Lisa Bedard, Kelly Mom -
made for it, tit[red "Autumn mersteeg and Martha KIp.

Mt. Carmel Parish C.W.L.
meeting last Tuesday, and en-
joyed seeing a film entitled
Slippery slope on the Right to
Life movement with speaker
Carla Revington, followed by
a penny sale and
refreshments.
Ron and Sharon Schroeder
enjoyed a week's trip to
Georgia recently.
The Exeter Skating Club -
held their carnival on Satur-
day with two performances.
The theme was "Fads and
Fantasies" (which was
reported to be very good!)

Cub Rally of 600 entrants in
about two weeks to he also
held in Lucan. The best

Oesch, Zurich.

have returned home from

The 108th Annual Meeting of the Hay Township
Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Company will
be held in the Company Office, Zurich, on
Saturday the 26th day of F=ebruary, 1983 at 2
