in our prayers to remember
those who help us on our
journey through life, also sick
and suffering and to accept
God's will for us. Closing her
remarked with three verses
from John 15 verses 12,13,14
and everyone singing "What
a Friend We have in Jesus."
She then called upon Cliff
Jacques and his group, Doug
Stephens, Laverne Rodd and
Lorne Elford who favored
with several selections on ac-
cordion, violin, mouth organ
and piano. A short skit follow-
ed, acted by Ruby Beaver,
Luella Taylor and Marjory
Arthur, which was quite
humorous. Another musical
number from the group and
also one from Dorothy
Bullock and Mr. Lewis on the
violin were appreciated.
The meeting was close
with one verse of "Are we
weak and heavy laden." Mrs,
Desjardine announced that
there were several cbpies of
"Beautitudes for Seniors" if
anyone would like one.

Workshops are planned
"My daughter is skipping
school." "My son is oGt of con-
trol. What should I do?"
Parents wtpo have faced
questions such as (hese and
others that may be similar
will get an opportunity to
have their questions
answered at a special series
of Workshops for Parents of
Teens this month at North
Lambton Secondary School.
The series, sponsored by
the Lambton Health Unit, •is
similai°to the successful pro-
gramme that attracted a hun-
dred interested parents in
Petrolia last year. Free of
charge, the series started
February 8. The first discus-
sion topic comes to grips with
adolescence and is entitled
"The Adolescent as a Being".
Special speakers will be'
featured and parents will be
given ample opportunity to
ask questions.
The other two workshops in
the three-part series will deal
•
t
with similar subjects such as
problems it the school and in
the home and those related to
drugs, delinquency and
alcohol.
According to the
organizers, the workshops
'rave been -highly successful in
past years. An estimated 86,
percent of those who attend-
ed last year were parents of
teenagers, while the re-
mainder were parents of
younger children or worked
with teens.
Panellists are professionals
and volunteers. All have had
wide experience with coping
with the types of problems
that confront today's
teenagers and their parents.
Knowing in advance what to
do can often avert serious
crises and result in better
understanding between all
parties concerned.
