A letter from the ministry of culture and recreation confirming the grant was read at a meeting of Tuckersmith Township council Tuesday night. Council will sign a con- tract with Wayne and Harold Smith Construction Ltd. of Egmondville for the construction costs of the new steel -clad building and removal of the old building for a cost of $118.355 Reeve Robert Bell and LIBRARY SCIENCE GRAD -- Lori Sims, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Sims, RR 1 Hensall, graduated June 8 from University of Toronto, with a Master's degree in Library Science. She is presently employed with Brampton Public Library. UWO GRAD — Heather Wade, daughter of Bob and Ida Wade, Ancaster, has graduated from the Universi- ty of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English and French. She is presently with the Quebec Ministry of Industry & Tourism at "Man and His World" in Montreal but will attend Althouse College in September. Council members express- ed annoyance that applications for tile drainage loans are not always being returned to the township office until after construction of the drain is completed. A decision was made not to approve the loan in the future unless return- ed before start of the work so that proper inspections can be made. Guest speaker Reverend Don Spencer of London was assisted by Michael Osborne. Marlyne Denham and Marie Stephen. Special music was provided by "The Gospel Keys" of Exeter. Flowers in the church were placed in memory of the late Ken Doupe a former resi- dent of Kirkton. There will be no service during the month of July in St. Paul's Anglican Church. The congregation is invited to worship with Kirkton and Woodham United Churches. Reverend Mary Mills of Glencoe will be in charge of the services during the month of August at St. Pauls Anglican Church. Wno was celebrating her 85th birth- day. Mrs. Brownlee, a resident of Craigholme Nursing home for six years. is a victim of rheumatoid arthritis and spends some time in a wheelchair. She has two children, a son, John Brownlee of Gravenhust and a daughter, Mary Jane Carter of Vancouver, B.C. and six grandchildren. About 60 relatives and friends attended the party held in the activity centre, where a table was set and centred with a large birth- day cake, floral arrangements and candles. Susan Brownlee and Lisa Carter were in charge of the guest book. Helping with the serving of lunch were Viola and Barbara Carter, Patricia and Pamela Brownlee.
