Rebekahs conduct
night for brothers
Pride of Huron Rebekah
Lodge held their meeting
Wednesday evening when
they had Brothers night. The
Brothers opened and closed
Lodge with Bro Ernie
Chipchase as Noble Grand.
There were 70 members
present. NG Marjorie Arthur
presided for the business
assisted by VG Cheryl
Edwards.

at Stratford
"The Stratford and
District Right to Life held
its monthly meeting May 12
at St. James Church, Strat-
ford. with Mrs. Frances
Greene. Centre Street,
presiding. and opening with
prayer.
Once again a float is being
prepared for the Stratford
Festival City Western Days
to be held o Saturday. May
30th.
The film "Does Anyone
Care" with a following
program will be presented to
a group in Listowel on June
11th.
Right to Life memorial
cards are being placed in all
funeral homes. This will
enable people to make a
donation to the Association
as an expression of sym-
pathy.
Mrs. Joyce Thomas. RR 4.
Listowel. was nominated to
the National Board of
Alliance for Life and will be
our representative at the
National conference in New-
foundland in June.
Next Right to Life meeting
will be on Tuesday. June 11
at St. James Anglican
Church. Stratford at 8:15
p.m.

Harold Taggart. These
celebrities were all
welcomed by the members.
Treasurer Mavis Atthill
gave the financial report. It
was reported that the
inaugural for Sis Grace
Fuller DDP elect will be held
in Goderich Lodge Hall,
Thursday June 25 at 8 p.m.
Also the inaugural for Bro
Alex McBeath DDGM elect
will be held in Hensall Lodge
Hall on June 21 at 8 p.m.
Nominations for the
coming year were held. June
3 will be the Lodge birthday
party and June 4 the degree
team will visit Victoria
Lodge, London leaving at 6
p.m. Degree practice will be
May 28 and June 1 at 7 p.m.
Each officer introduced
her Brother thanking him for
coming and presented a gift
to him. LSNG Joyce Morgan
gave a very interesting
report of the District
meeting held recently in
Brussels.
Bro Harold Taggaret
spoke briefly on the
renovations being made at
the Barrie Home. Bro. Harry
Noels spoke and brought
greetings from Sovereign
Grand Lodge and Bro Percy
Noels brought greetings
from the District. Bro John
Broadfoot' and Bro Ernie
Chipchase spoke briefly
expressing thanks for the
invitation and reminded the
members of several church
services upcoming.
Following the meeting a
humorous skit was given
honoring the Brothers. Those
taking part were Lois
McFalls, Helen Jory, Iva
Blair, Ruth Anderson and
Jean Noels.

Plan book sale at Blyth
Book lovers, collectors and
just plain readers are
welcome Saturday, June 6 at
Huron County's largest used
book sale at Memorial Hall
in Blyth.
Sponsored by the Blyth
Centre for the Arts, the sale
brings together thousands of
paperback and hardcover
books, many of them priced
at only 25 cents. There'll be
special sections of children's
Woks, Canadiana, and
reference books, as well as a
hugh choice of fiction in the
same building that houses
the nationally, famous Blyth
Summer Festival.
Home baked goods, and
refreshments will be
available throughout the
book sale, which runs from
10 to 4. As well, book
browsers and buyers will be
able to take specially con-
ducted tours of the theatre.
As an added feature,
authors James Reaney and
Penny Kemp will be giving
readings of their works in the
art gallery of the Hall,
commencing at 1:30 p.m.
This rare opportunity to
meet an author, to learn
about his or her craft and
how a book comes into being
is a once-in-a-lifetime event,
something adults and
children will remember for
years to come.
There is no admission
charge to either the book
sale or the readings.

On March 28, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church,
Judith Annette Brittain, daughter of Grace Brittain of RR 1
Crediton and Keith Brittain of Exeter and John leo Nedza son
of Mr. and Mrs. John Nedza of Crediton, were united in
marriage, Father Joseph Nelligan officiating. The best man
was Mike Brannon and guests were ushered in by Dan
Turkheim, Brad Scott and Andy Nedza. The maid of honour
was Julianne Brittain and bridesmaids were Patti McCann,
Brenda Wilds and Barbara Nedza. After a honeymoon to
Jamaica the couple will reside in Huron Park.
MR. AND MRS. WILLIAM POLE
Cheryl Lorraine Rau and William Stuart Pole were married at
St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, St. Joseph, April 25. The
bride is the daughter of John Paul and Barb Rau and the
groom's parents are Stuart and Shirley Pole. Father J. Bensett
officiated. Maid of honour was Mary Ann Mommersteeg,
Terri Brandon, Denise Rau, and Patti Rau were bridesmaids,
while Sandy Bell was junior bridesmaid. Wendy Rau wos
flower girl, and Kenny Rau was ring bearer. Best man was
Steve Zaranik, and groomsmen were Larry Pole, Gary Rau,
Paul McInnis and Randy Thiel. After a honeymoon at Wheels
in Chatham, the couple are now residing at RR 2, Hensall.

Church May 16, with Rev. McMullen officiating. The bride is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anstett, Seaforth, and the
groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith love, RR 1 Zurich.
Moid of honour was Mary Devereaux. Bridesmaids were Cin-
dy and Judy Anstett, Beth McNichol and Joan Devereaux.
Poul Pavkeje was best man, while guests were ushered by
Terry Elligsen, Grant and Gord Love, and Joe Anstett. Mrs.
Ron Irving was soloist, while Mrs. Gerald Moffatt played the
