The May meeting of the United Church Women will be held Monday evening May 4 at 8 p.m. A fair crowd attended the Good Friday evening church service at Elimville United Church. Pastor Ross Hargreaves, Jim Wilkinson, Mrs. Ross Skinner and Mrs. Howard Pym sang an Easter quartet. Communion was served to bring an in- spirational service to a close. Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Passmore arrived home last week after having spent the winter in Florida. Mr. Brad Cann arrived home Saturday evening for ten days before going to Denmark. Mr. and Mrs. David Passmore, Tom and Jon, Mr. Dale Passmore were Friday evening guests with Mrs. Myrtle Metters of Exeter. Karen and Kathy Rohde, Exeter spent the long holiday week -end with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. William Rohde while their parents Mr. and Mrs. Doug Rohde spent the holiday weekend in Nashville, Mrs. Sutherland, Mount Brydges spent the week end with her daughter Mrs. Edwin Miller and Mr. Miller. Twenty members answered the roll call with payment of fees. Thank y01 letters were read from the Canadian Cancer Society also from Community House in Lon- don. During the business it was decided to attend Huron Country Playhouse to see a performance of "The Music Man", Mrs. Harold Hardy will make the arrangements. Plans were made to help Lucan Institute at their Red Cross Blood Clinic April 30, to be held in the Lucan Com- munity Centre. Several members plan to attend the district annual to be held at Poplar Hill Baptist Church, May 19, with North Lobo as hostess branch. Jean Hodgins, Gladys Cun- ningham, and Velma Hardy will be voting delegates. Mrs. Alan Hill will repre- sent Clandeboye W.I. at the Officer's convention to be held at Waterloo University in May. Mrs. Roy Cun- ningham will attend the Conference as alternate Federated representative for the district. Good reports were heard from all conveners, as well as the auditors report. Group 2, as the nominating committee, led by Mrs. Jim Cunningham presented the slate of officers. All offices were filled but vice- president. Donna Hindmarsh was in Sarnia, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to attend a London -Hamilton Presbyterial Conference for the Presbyterian. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Groenewegen, Marilyn and Paul, also Dave Moir, were in Sudbury for the weekend to attend the 25th wedding anniversary celebration of Mrs. Groenwegen's brother, John and Alma Vis, of Warren, which is between North Bay and Sudbury. Mr. and Mrs. John Vis, Sr. of South Holland who are in Canada on an extended visit, returned with the Groenewigens for a visit with them. Dave and Eleanor Kestle returned Tuesday from a winter holiday in Florida. Mrs. Betty Peeple, Karen and Lisa of Port Dover, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hardy and family. Harold Hardy returned Friday evening from a trip to Pennsylvania where he had assisted a Mennonite family in their move from the St. Marys area to that state. A capacity crowd enthusiastically consumed over 200 pounds of rabbit meat prepared and cooked by the ladies of the club. Following the banquet, dancing to "Debbie and the Wildwoods" was enjoyed by all. Dance door prizes were awarded to Bonnie Eden & Gord Murray and Doug and Connie Trevithick.
