Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde spent Friday evening with Mr. & Mrs. George Kellett and Tuesday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Frayne Parsons, and supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Ross Hargreaves. Mr. & Mrs. Cleve Brophey, Chatham spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Murray Dawson. Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hulley, Gilford spent the weekend with. Mr, & Mrs. Donald' Bray. Don Sproule, Quebec spent a few days last week with Mr. Brian Miller. Mr. & Mrs. William Dougall, near Hensall, Mr. & Mrs. Elmer Powe, Centralia were Saturday evening supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Miller. Quite a number of people from this area attended the annual Farm Show in London last week. Mr. & Mrs. William Rohde were Sunday supper guests with Mr. & Mrs. Alex Rohde, Mitchell. Sympathy of the com- munity is extended to the Ballantyne relatives in the passing of the late Miss Lily Ballantyne. Word was received on the weekend of the sudden passing of the late Russell Mills of London. Mrs. Mills was a teacher at S.S. No. 2 Usborne or Thames Road School. The sympathy of the community is extended to his mother Mrs. Lottie Mills, his wife Alice and their family. Miss Kim Riehl returned to the Stratford General Hospital on Sunday evening after spending the winter break with her parents Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Riehl. She works at the hospital. Brent Dawson had the misfortune to fracture his collar bone Saturday. Miss Tonya Riehl returned home Wednesday from War Memorial Hospital London after having had her tonsils removed. United Church Women The March meeting of the United Church Women was held Monday evening with 29 ladies present. Mrs. Ross Hargreaves welcomed everyone to the Stewardship meeting. We sang "Take My Life and Let It Be." Mrs. Bob Sharp read the Scripture first Peter 4-10, also spoke a few words on stewardship and led in prayer. Mrs. Ross Hodgert gave a Stewardship reading "Me & Others". Mrs. Ross Hargreaves called on six Young People from Elimville who attended the Toc Alpha meeting in Hamilton recently. Those who spoke were Doug Cooper, Joan Cooper, Michael Grubb. Margaret Pym. Barbara and Brad Skinner. Mrs. Lee Webber gave a humorous reading "The Roaring Game". Mrs. Edwin Miller, the Mission and Service co- ordinator spoke on the Live Love projects especially the one on Miss Kathleen Metherall. A poem "The Stewardship of Giving" was given by Mrs. Ross Cottle. The offering was received by Mrs. Ross Hodgert and Mrs. Wayne Rowe, and the prayer was given by Mrs. Donald Bray. We sang "Christ For the World We Sing". Mrs. Murray Dawson showed a Christian Stewardship film entitled Magnificent Love Affair. Mrs. Dawson gave an opening thought before the business session. We received an invitation to the Marion Ritchie Group at Cromarty Church on April 7 at 8 p.m. The usual business was dealt with. It was decided we would cater to the Coop Banquet in November. The meeting was closed with singing a hymn and then prayer. C and the hostess Mrs. Howard Cunnington served lunch. Twelve ladies attended the World Day of Prayer Service at Elimville Friday with Mrs.Murray Dawson, Mrs. Ken Duncan. Mrs. Robert Sharp and Mrs. William Rohde taking part in the service.
