Hensall Church women pay five cents for pillows
Unit 11 meets
Ten members and one
visitor attended the UCW
meeting for Unit II on
February 9. Before the
meeting, the ladies can-
vassed Hensall for the
March of Dimes.
Jean Hull welcomed
everyone to the meeting with
a poem. Following the
singing of a hymn the roll
call was answered by "What
the weather waalike on your
wedding day".
The special collection was
taken. This month members
paid five cents for every
pillow they had in their
house. Deanna Brock chose
as her topic, on the New
Family in the Church, the
one parent family which is
.on the increase.
Love was the theme
chosen by Elva Forrest for
the devotion based on the
Scripture. Love is a gift of
God. Love is free: Love has
more power than any drug.
Lots of love is needed. Elva
led in prayer and closed with
a hymn.
The offering was received
and dedicated. Jean Hull
read the legend of Valen-
tines. Joyce Pepper and
Mona Alderdice conducted
the business. The World Day
of Prayer will be held March
6 at 2:30 p.m. in Hensall

and Ann Brock and served
by Hazel and Joyce Pepper.
Unit 1 meets
Kay Elder presided for the
Unit I of the UCW on Feb. 12.
After her opening poem, they
sang and Kay read some
scriptures. Her devotional
theme was "Down in the
Dumps". She illustrated that
the sea of life is equal to the
burdens of the day. We may
get depressed by actions of
our children, so we need rest
and sleep to renew our
strength, just as Jesus took
time to relax and rest . Our
spirits are lifted by our hope
in God.
Kay led in prayer and
"Come Let us sing of a
Wonderful Love" with Belva
Fuss accompanying at the
piano. The roll call and
RAICIIIIP IF
minutes followed another
poem by Kay.
Audrey' Christie gave the
study using the very in-
teresting story by Rev.
Michael Chandoo, his wife
and children from a
Presbyterian Church in
Grenada on an enchange
ministry for one year. Rev.
Gerald Hutchinson of
Alberta was asked to spend
the year in Grenada St.
George's church. It outlined
each minister and church
and contributed to both
congregations to the
mutuality in mission
programme.
They also discussed the
aparthied government of
South Africa and how the
native people of that country
are being so ill treated in so
many ways by whites. Also
how some of our banks are
sending massive loans to
help maintain this aparthied
government.
Audrey Joynt gave a
report on the adopted girl,
Ning Klan Man of Burma.
The report of the
Presbyterial held at
Brucefield on Jan. 26 was
given by Audrey Christie.
She also outlined the

Hensall United church
Lorne Thrower again
conducted the service in
Hensall United Church on
Sunday and took as his
message "I Don't Know
What to do". Much of life
consists of problem solving
and decision making. Often
there is a warning before
trouble, so awareness should
be followed by worship and
prayer. This builds up
serenity, confidence and
peace, for our battles are
God's battles.
The children circled the
pulpit and were. shown a
variety of cutting utensils.
They were instructed to
watch against a cutting
tongue. They then, with the
help of the choir, sang,
beating time with percussion
instruments.
The choir, led by the
director and organist Dr.
Ralph Topp, sang an hymn
and the Benediction at the
end of the service. Greeting
at the door was Eric Man- We welcome our minister
