Op -Tom's Report
A month ago I ran a little
contest looking for a caption
for this column. One person
entered. Young Mark Mason
on Columbia Dr., Huron
Park, submitted the one
which you see at the head of
this report. Thank you Mark.
The only benefit from having
one entry is that the judging
was very simple.
The girls hockey team
gave everything they had but
went down to defeat at the
hands of the Teeswater girls.
Except for the odd tour-
nament I guess they can call
it a year. A good effort girls.
This coming Saturday the
pee wee team travels to the
big city of Ripley for a
tournament against other
teams of their calibre. With
the speed and talent our guys
have produced this year we
should be able to come home
with some hardware.
Corning up later are the
Young Canada pee wee
tourney in Goderich and the
return to Drayton tour-
nament at which all our
teams will compete.
The Club meeting, held on
Sunday morning, showed
that the members are in-
terested in what is going on
in the area. Twenty-five
turned out for our monthly
breakfast meeting. That's a
lot of men who got out of bed
on a Sunday at nine in the
lk
morning. The ladies
provided a well balanced
repast.
Ten members are heading
for Clinton on Thursday
evening to attend an inter-
club with the Clinton
Optimists. Clubs have to
work together, and there's
no better way to find out
what's going on than to visit
with each other.
Everybody knows what is
going to happen on Sunday,
Feb. 22. Yes the road rally
will be held from the club.
Have your car and
passengers at the Optimist
Hall no later than 1 p.m.
if you plan on entering. If
everyone enters, who have
stated they were, we can
expect a good turnout. It's
fun and informative. Also
prizes will be awarded after
the event.
Tickets for our major draw
will be out in a matter of
days. The two prizes arc a
$500 grocery voucher from
Zehrs and a utility shed from
Saveway. The draw will be
held prior to the July first
weekend.
Members of the Club are
gearing up for our summer
projects. T -Ball, golf, men's
ball and kids ball will start
organizing soon. This year
we are hoping to get things
under way early instead of
waiting until the last minute.
Keep your eyes open and
watch for more info in
upcoming columns.
I'm a little under the
weather today so I'll cut this
short.
Remember; you always
win if you lose with a smile.

NEW STOCK ARRIVING DAILY - WE MUST MAKE ROOM
We're overstocked to the tune of about $100,000....and that
can only mean one thing for you. Our inventory must be
reduced quickly in order to bring our stock back to the proper
level....and the quickest way to do this is "HONEST TO
GOODNESS BARGAIN PRICES". We bought too much last
year and now we're paying the price by sacrificing profits.
Prices have been slashed in all departments on an excellent
selection of furniture, appliances and carpeting.
GUARANTEED LOWEST PRICES
If you see the identical item advertised at
a lower price than right here in the next
30 days, we'll refund you the difference in
cash.
