At the Community Bible
Church, Pastor Glen Fretz
entitled his message
"Interlude with a Purpose",
based on I John 2: 12-17. In
reflection, John reminds us
that we can be sure of our
faith in Jesus Christ, and
that a positive relationship
with God demands a
nagative relationship with
the world and its values.

Does the activity:
1. put God out of our

2. weaken the power of our

3. hinder us from doing

4. rival God's place in our

Church news
The Rev. Elword Morden
conducted the worship at
Granton United Church on
Sunday. Taking the text for
his sermonfromGen. 6,
the second in a series on
"Ways of Acceptance",
entitled his message "The
Courage to Change". This
from the second part of St.
Francis of Assisi's Prayer,
"God give me the courage to .
change the things I can".
Mature people must
always reckon
with limitations. Adam and
Eve renounced their
essential being, by not living
up to their responsibilities.
With technilogical ad-
vancement, in some ways we
have gone forward, but we
have also gone backward

Vegetables
are fresh
Fresh Ontario vegetables
are yours to enjoy though
it's the middle of winter, say
the marketing specialists at
the Ontario Ministry of
Agriculture and Food.
Winter vegetables, also
known as root or storage
vegetables,, are. so named
because they store very well
throughout the winter. They
include carrots, onions,
rutabaga. potatoes and
parsnips.
During Ontario's summer,
large quantities of these
vegetables are grown.
Several large commercial
storage facilities store them
properly before they reach
the produce counters. These
storage areas are equipped
with ideal c.onditions to
maintain good quality
throughout the winter. For
this reason. you don't need
to stock up a home too far
ahead. since these
vegetables are always
available.
To protect their quality
after they leave the storage
areas. the vegetables are
packaged. Carrots and
parsnips are packed in
plastic bags in a couple of
different sizes. Onions are
packaged in mesh bags in
about five different sizes,
and potatoes are packaged in
either plastic or paper bags
in three sizes. Rutabaga is
usually waxed before leav-
ing the storage area .
