IRVIN RAPER Dashwood Senior Citizens held their fun day Jan. 19 with 43 members present. Two new members joined. The ladies quilted while the men passed the time with cards and games. Following a pot luck supper business was conducted. The next fun day will be held February 2. A generous donation was made to the medical centre. They are also acting as can- vassers: Mrs. Ross Love, Mrs. Mervyn Tiernan, Mrs. Ken McCrae, Helen Nadiger, Mrs. Eben Weigand , Mrs. Jessie Rader. Mrs. Pearl Miller and Mrs. Mildred Keller- man. Magazine subscriptions to the "Voice" were taken. UCW annual meeting The United Church Women of Calvary United Church provided lunch for members following the morning ser- vices Sunday. The annual meeting was held in the afternoon chaired by Miss Barbara Laing.Budgets were set and officers elected for 1981. Rev. K. L. Howlett of the Canadian Bible Society will be guest speaker Sunday., February 1 at the regular services at both Dashwood and Zurich churches. PersonaIs Mrs. Ernest Koehler returned home Fruday after spending some time at Oshawa with Mr. and Mrs. Spike Nagai, Susan and Chris Baynharn. George Tieman has returned home from Univer- sity hospital following sur- gery. Mrs. Flossie Willert has been transferred to South Huron hospital from Univer- sity hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader, Stacey and Derick accom- panied by Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Rader attended the church service at Zion Sunday and were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Miller and girls. Flowers in the church Sunday were placed in loving memory by the family of Barbara Keller. Also there were flowers from the family of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Restemayer who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this week. Spring? We will wait and see. Dashwood, was runner-up. 50th anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Restemayer celebrated their approaching 50th wed- ding aniversary Saturday evening with a family dinner at the Dominion Hotel, Zurich. Also presentwere the giuumsman and bridesm•"Id of 50 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Percy Willert, Zurich. The evening was spent at the home of their son and fami- ly. Mr. and Mrs. Leeland Restemayer, Dashwood. Personals Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader spent a couple of days last week in London with Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Keller. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Becker have returned home follow- ing a vacation to the west coast and visiting with relatives in Indiana, Califor- nia and Arizona. They visited the Rose Parade in Pasadena which was headed by Lorne Green. The remaining trip was to New Orleans and Nashville. They had Christmas at Fresno. California where they attended chruch ser- vices. A welcoming com- mittee at the door made them feel at home. The minister announced how happy they were to have Canadians present and an Oshawa lady was pleased to see them.
