Times-Advocate, 1981-01-21, Page 5Huron Park team win hockey title Stephen Optimists Sunday afternoon was a delightful experience for those of us who attended the variety show held in the hall. Their talents, energy and inventiveness did justice to their sizes and pleased the crowd. Harold Borden has plans for future shows of a larger nature. He wants more participation from the kids and also more parents in attendance. There is nothing on TV that can match this type of entertainment. Bob Pinter and his family spent the weekend in Huron Park. Bob told me that the reason for their visit was that they read about our functions in the Times - Advocate. For Christmas he received a subscription for the T -A from Al Lavier. It's a pleasure for me to know that my column is read and understood by a family all the way from Tillsonburg. J.T. is back in the park working. Anyone who worked at Hall Lamp will remember John Turner. John has accepted an ap- pointment at Fleck Mfg. I'm sure you will all join me in wishing John well in his new venture. Saturday was another fun filled day for our hockey fans and players. The Zurich minor hockey teams had a tough time against our kids. Even though their bantam team defeated our boys 8-0, they didn't have an easy time of It. That's one for you Gerry Kading.
