Eden were favored with fine weather
for their Sunday School Anniversary
On Sunday, Bev. W. Godwin preach-
ed two very thoughtful sermons.
On Monday evening a large crowd
gathered in the school room for the
old-fashioned tea'. After tho tea was
served to all, they repaired to the
church where a very Lino program
was enjoyed. Interesting addressee
were deli\ered by Revs. Dr. Hannon
W. Godwin, and Mr. Wm. Anderson,
of Stephen. Recitations were given
by Mise Blanche Rook and Mies Retta
Fssery, 'he dialogues by the schol-
ars, under the supervision of Mr.
Davidson, being well rendered. U he
Centralia choir delighted the con-
gregations with choice selections.
After the programme refreshments
were served to those taking part
At. the conclusion. Mr. Anderson sold
by auction, the provisions which re-
mained and was presented with a
large round cake for his services.
Proceeds about $60.

by a big majority.
The provincial election held
throughout Ontario on Wednesday,
Jan. 25th was keenly contested. The
day was intensely cold with a fierce
raw wind blowing and the thermo-
meter some 8 to 10 degrees below
zero, nevertheless the voters turn-
ed out, both political parties being
confident of winning. The results of
the campaign as near as can be gath-
ered at 10 p. nn., show a decided
overthrow of the Ross Government
which has held power for the past 32
years, indicating a defeat of the
Ministry of about 09 to 28.
