Rev. Es.G,i'owell of '.Brussels ad-
dressed brief words of welcome arid
good cheer to the W. tC. T. U. of
Huron County and :wished them God-
speed.
A well delivered and practial ad-
dress vas given by ltev. Dr. Dougall
of Goderich. ale refercd to the im-
proved conditions of the Old Land
under the ilcw law. curtailing 32,000
liquor licenses with promise of better
manhood and womanhood. Canadian
advantages were instanced and the
growth of prohibition in the United
States called to mind that one half
of the people were now living in the
"dry' districts, The growth of Tem-
perance sentiment in the Dominion
was shown in the various forms of
prohibitory legislation called up with
emphasis placed upon the duty of the
State to enact and enforce laws for
the best asset of the nation viz., the
people.
Rcv. A. C. Wishart, Presbytetrian
minister was called upon and ex-
pressed his hearty sympathy with the
work of the Union and his willingness
to co-operate with them at any time
Mrs. drown of Godorioh reported
on the Woman Franchise question.
`!'here was unanimity of opinion as
to the necessity and advisability of
the fair sex •having .jheir rights in
this matter.
