ior. itled "The Yukon 'Territory ;
Its 1 tory and Resources."

far-off country goes back to 183e,
when Robert Campbell established a
Nucleon May post at Deane Lake. It

Campbell was commissioned by Gov-
ernor Simpson to explore to its source
the North branch of the Liard River.
In succession the explorer discovered
Laken Francis and Finlayson and Pet-
ty lliver, descending the latter to its
confluence with a stream which was

that Illanshard Township give an
equivalent.
The County by-laws for a scheme
of County road improvement was con-
sidered and the ,following resolution
passed.
Routly-Atkinson - That owing to
the efficient condition of its roads
and bridges. the Township of Us -
borne. is not likely to be equitably,
benefitted by a County System of
road improvement ; that the said
Township of Usborne be omitted from
any scheme of County roads that
may be adopted by the Council of
the County of Iiuron. and fully re-
imbursed for any amount tho 'Town-
ship may pay to the County road
Fund in case a County scheme is
