church on Tuesday aftertooa and even-
ing. Nearly all the ministers of the .
district were preseet and a large
representation of laymen. The con-
ference was addressed by the Rev. C.
E. Manning, ofTeronto, FieldSecretary
for tbe Horne Missions. It is expected
that the outcome of the P.onference will
be a lesge increase in the mission
offerings of this district.
The "Go th Church" Sunday held ia
the Methodist chureh last Sueday was
a splendid success, large congregations ,
both moaning and evening, being preal
ent. The attendance at the Sacremerel
tal service in the mornieg was the
largest in the history of the chtirch, and!
eight new member were received into 1
the church. In the evening the plaster a
gave a patriotic address on the "Cines

Monday evening of last week, Jean
Evelyn, infant daughter of Milton and
Mrs. McVettie, 2 Lot 21. Con, 3, died
from an attack of inflammation a the
brain, following a poorly spell from in.
digeston. The little girl was 2 menthe
and 8 days old.
Tuesday evening of last week, Mrs.
James Coulter, an oid and well known
esident of Lot 14, Con. 10, Morris
townslaip passed away suddenly from
heart weakness. Tile old lady was
visiting her daughter, Mrs. Clark, in
Blyth and was on the street during the
day attending to some duties. She
died at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Coulter is survived by her hus-
band, 1 son and 3 daughters. She was
a naember of Trinity church.
Wednesday afternoon of last week
Dr. Will L. 3.1eCutcheon, of Philadel-
phia, and Miss Ella M., daugbter of
Thos. and Mrs. Clark, 5th line, were
united in marriage at St. John's rec-
tory, Brussels, by Rev. Mr. Page, the
rector. The groom is a son of D. and
Mrs. 31cCutcheon. 6th line. Dr. and
Mrs. MeCutcheon left Bruseels on the
3 p. as. train for Philadelphia where
they will make their home. Many good
wishes accompany them for happiness
and prosperity.
A well known former resident of the
2nd line of Morris township paid Nature's
debt at his home at Whitewater, Mani-
toba, in the person of Samuel Caldbick,
on Sunday, October 25th, aged 75 years,
6 tnonths and 23 days, Mr. Caldbick
was of Irish tationality, Conseavative
n politics and Episcopalian in chureh
relationship. He wile a good neighbor
and had a wide circle of friends. About
5 years ago be and Mrs. Caldbick went
West to take up home with their son,
Ward. Deceased is survived by his
wife, 3 sons (Sam., of Washington;
Geo.. sheriff at Hailybury; and Ward,
at Whitewater) and 5 daughters (Mrs.
Martin, of Grand Rapids, Mich.; Mrs.
Taylor, of Boissevain; Mrs, Joseph
Bowman, Cobalt; Mrs. Wra. Turvey,
Saskatoon; and Mrs, Robertson, of
Boissevain.) Henry died some years
ago. Mrs. Caldbick and family will
Aare in the sympathy of many old
friends in Morris and locality in the de -
raise of husband and father.
