CAMBRIDGE - Alex Mustakas, Artistic
Director and CEO of Drayton Entertain-
ment, has been honoured with another
Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year
award - this time a Special Citation for
outstanding community partnerships.
Mustakas made headlines last month
when he was announced as the winner of
the EY Entrepreneur Of the Year in the
category of Media and Entertainment. 1 le
was called back to the National Finals in
Toronto last evening to accept this second
award of distinction, which recognized
hila as a social entrepreneur who con-
tributes to both the economy and coin -

recognize the importance of paying it forward and continually
giving back. It has been a privilege to work with so many great
charities over the years and shine a spotlight on many
worthy causes:'
An icon in Canada's performing arts industry, Mustakas emi-
grated from Cyprus at the age of six. A natural performer at
heart, he was always drawn to the stage, and to that end has
spent the last 23 years enhancing the cultural life of multiple
communities throughout Ontario.
In addition to donating resources from his charitable arts
organization to support the individual fundraising efforts of over
750 charities throughout Ontario, Mustakas has personally
raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local initiatives by
spearheading successful collaborations with the Waterloo
Regional Police Service, United \Vay of Kitchener' -Waterloo,
United Way of Perth -1 lemon, St. John's Kitchen, Salvation Army,
Rotary, and others.
Mustakas has generously supported numerous community
arts groups by providing his business acumen, benefiting Kitch-
ener -Waterloo Musical Productions, the Gilbert & Sullivan Soci-
ety of Waterloo Region, 'I\vin City I larn onizers, and Cambridge
Symphony ( )rchest a. I le has also served on Advisory hoards to
Conestoga College and Wilfrid Laurier lJniversit ', the latter of
which awarded him an I lonorary Doctor of Letters in recogni-
tion of his lasting impact on Canada's artistic and
cultural landscape.
