DERIK WHITING
May 29, 2006
I have not left you,
I have only slipped away into the next room.
1 am somewhere very near,
Just around the corner.
Death is nothing at all.
1 am still me and you are still you.
Whatever we once were to each other,
that is what we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way
that you always did.
Put no difference in your voice,
wear no air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed -
play, smile and think of me.
Let my name bo the household word
it always was.
Lot it bo spoken without effort
or shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant,
it is the same now as it ever was.
May God Bless you and take care of you
until we see you again. All our love,
Mom & Dad Whiting
