It is an exciting time to go through the
Lambton Heritage Museum south of
(rand Bend.'I\vo new exhibits opened
Sunday and the incredible garden in
the front highlights natural features of
the area. Here author Bob Mc(:arthey
with his wife Jane from Sarnia check out
the Shine exhibit. Bob is currently fin-
ishing his newest book called Travesty -
the Elizabeth Workman story.
Author Paul Gallo! with wife Mary
check out the Great Storni exhibit Sun-
day. Paul just came back from a speak-
ing engagement with the Detroit Marine
Historical Society centering on his his-
tory of the Port 1 Iuron to South Hamp-
ton storm. Paul, with the 1 luron County
historical Society will he presenting
lectures and talks to recount the terrors
of the Great Storms of 1913.
The Lambton County Garden
This floral representation of Lambton County highlights the natural features of
the area, such as shoreline, rivers and topographic relief. They are joined here
by the most distinctive man-made landmarks of Lambton County, all situated in
their appropriate physical location. Can you find the St. Clair River, the Blue Water
Bridge, the world's first commercial oil field, the Chemical Valley, Rock Glen's
Devonian fossils, Kettle Point concretions and the route chosen in 1859 for the
Grand Trunk Railroad?

The Great Storm - November 1913
Every minute counts on the Great Lakes. Excitement runs high
and danger challenges! Sometimes chances are taken as the
giant lake freighters try to make one more run before the close
of the navigation season. Join the Lambton Heritage Museum
as we mark the anniversary of the largest disaster to ever hit
the Great Lakes with a special exhibit from May to November
of 2013.
Shine: Spotlight on Women of Lambton. So often
in history the stories of women have been forgotten or
marginalized. This new exhibit provides an opportunity for
Lambton County women who have Impacted their communities
to shine. The exhibit explores how the roles of women have
changed over time, as well as the significant impacts of
women's groups on their communities. Women in business
and education are also featured. Be sure to discover Lambton's
Guiding Beacons, women from every municipality in Lambton
County who nave been nominated by the community. Enjoy this
dynamic new exhibit from May 12 until November 8, 2013.
