On April 25 the Grand Bend Women's Institute
held their 5th Annual Spring Awakening at
the Grand Bend Legion with 150 women in
attendance.
The purpose of this annual event Is to provide
education, awareness, and a social time for the
local community residents. The guest speakers
included Helen Varakemp with an Introduction to
Feng Shul. Nicole Simmle from Lambtton's Red
Cross talked about emergency preparedness and
Gall Ducharme spoke about her son and coping
With childhood illness. In the afternoon guests
saw other demonstrations.
Proceeds raised at this ROSE Session are
donated back to the community at large:
Grand Bend Health Centre, the Lambton Elderly
Outreach, Haiti Relief and the Goderich Tornado
Relief, as well as various health campaigns and
programs of the WI.
