KNIGHTS
Knights, Dorothea Grace - Poacotully at
the Bluewater Rost Home in Zurich,
Ontario, April 24, 2013 in her 99th year.
Beloved wife of the late Cecil James
Knights. Dear mother and mother -in law of
Brian and Trish Knights of Grand Bond.
Loving grandmother of Kenny and his wife
Stephanie of Forest, Ontario. Sister to Eva
Nancarrow, Juno Carter and Mary Vonhola.
Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, William and
Jessie Walz, sisters; Lenore, Blanche, Jua-
nita, Faye, Anne, and only brother Billy.
Dorothea trained as a nurse at Woodstock
General, Woodstock; was night superinten-
dent at Grace Hospital, Windsor: and with
her husband owned and operated the
Windsor Private Modica! Hospital in Wind-
sor. Sho retired from the position of
Executive Director of the Greater Windsor
Senior Citizen's Center, where sho also
founded tho Meals on Wheels programme.
Sho moved to her cottage at Grand Bond
and became active In the Golden Agers,
The Friends of the Pinery and the Huron
Country Playhouse Guild. A special thanks
to the staff at
Bluewater Rest home In Zurich and the
Taylor family for making her part of their
family. Cremation has taken place. A
memorial service will bo held at the Grand
Bend United Church on, Thursday, May 2,
2013 at 11:30 a,m. with Rev. Harry Dishor
officiating. Interment later at Groenlawn Me-
morial Gardens, Windsor. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made to the Canadian
Cancer Society or the Grand Bond United
Church Building Fund.

ELBA (ZANNI) WALDEN
;urn October 9, 1915 at Hillsboro, Illinois,
died April 14, 2013,
at the Hillsboro :Area Hospital in her 98th year.
Elba was the daughter of Achill! and Agrippina (Vitali)
Lanni and grey up in I lillshoro. In 1934, she graduated
from Millsboro high School and began her working
career as a secretary at the Illinois Department of
Registration and Education at Springfield for live years
before moving 10 Normal, Illinois as assistant to the
Registrar of the Illinois State t'niversity. In 1946, she
moved to Chicago to become secretary to the vice-pres-
ident and editor-in-chief of the publishing first of
i I;u vey and 1 love Inc. It was in the Windy City that she
stet Glen Mc('owan Walden upon his return alter serv-
ing as a Captain in the U.S. Army Dental Corp. in
Egypt, North Africa, Sicily and France. Glen was a
f'armer's 5011 of '1'hedto1d, Ontario, lie attended the
University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario and
was a graduate of the school of Dentistry of Loyola
University. Atter their marriage at Lake Bluff, Illinois
on November 3, 1951, I:Iha became (den's receptionist
and secretary in his busy Chicago dental practice until
I941 when they retired and moved hack to Hillsboro,
Illinois.
I{Iha was quiet, very neat, tidy of dress. home and per-
son. She was always happy with a positive attitude and
enjoyed her work in the office, music, reading. walking,
baseball and basketball games and her vacations with
(Oen on the annual visits to their Canadian tastily mem-
bers. A shrewd and cautious investor, she managed their
investments until very recent years. Him was very inter-
ested in state and federal politics and held strong
informed opinions on current affairs.
I?Iha was predeceased by her husband, Glen McCowan
Walden. who died February 23, 2002, in his t)ath year,
her parents, her siblings, Mary Frances and Lent) !mini,
who died in infancy, sisters Olga Marcolini, Lena
Woodland, Emma Rufus and Edith Jones and her broth-
er, Aldo 'Lanni, and is survived by many nephews,
nieces and cousins in Canada and the U.S.A. Elba and
(ilen had no children. Both were from a family of eight
brothers and sisters and were generous to their families.
1:uneral arrangements are under the direction of Hough
& Sons Funeral Home, 1119 School Street, Millsboro,
Illinois, where the service will take place on 'Thursday,
April 18, 2013, at 12 noon with Rev. Ralph Ward offi-
ciating. Burial will he in the Oak Grove Cemetery,

Living in Hillsboro, Illinois, or the Lampton heritage
Museum, 10035 Museum Road, R.R.#2, Grand Bend,
