Lakeshore Advance, 2013-04-03, Page 98 Lakeshore Advance • Wednesday, April 3, 2013 Wind farm planned near Grand Bend CONTINUED FROM > PAGE 1 is now awaiting provincial approvals. "We're aiming for being online and in full production by the end of next year," Brace said. Ile said a pair of provincial programs helped make the partnership with the First Nations possible. One program adds an incentive to the price paid for the energy generated by renewable projects involving First Nations. The second is Ontario's Abo- riginal Loan Guarantee Program that helps First Nations borrow money to investment in renewable energy projects. "That's a very key tool to help the First Nations gather the large quantity of money that's necessary for equity par- ticipation in projects like this," Brace said. Northland Power already has part- nerships with First Nations in a series of water -power projects near Hearst in northern Ontario, as well as a wind farm on Manitoulin Island. Plain said the agreement with North- land will run for an initial 20 years, with the possibility of another five years after that. "What it creates for us is the opportu- nity to explore other opportunities out there, whether they be in renewable energy or other sectors." Plain said the First Nation has tradi- tionally looked for development oppor- tunities inside its own community with the aim of providing employment for its residents. "We also recognize there are oppor- tunities outside the community" to gen- erate revenue that can help with devel- opment at Aamjiwnaang, he said. Bkejwanong Chief Burton Kewayosh and other officials from Walpole Island also attended Thursday's event. "We've had some real community- based support for this initiative," Kewayosh said. BERT VAN KRUISTUM P. 519-237-3559 veekayconst©gmail corn The facade of this appealing home, with its brick and board -and -batten accents and decorative roundels in each gable brings to mind the charm of England's Edwardian era. The covered entry opens into a roomy foyer, with a coast closet on the left. To the right, through an archway, is a formal dining room, with windows looking onto a porch and the front garden. Directly ahead, through another archway, is the great room, boasting a dramatic vaulted ceiling. The gas fireplace will make this room cozy during the winter months, while French doors nearby lead to a deck for relaxing on warm days. The kitchen is separated from the great room by a three -seat eating bar, deal for casual meals and snacks. A double sink overlooks the deck area, part of which is covered. A roomy comer pantry will provide extra storage space and the U-shaped counter configuration will save steps for the cook. Adjacent to the kitchen is a laundry room, which will double as a mud room, thanks to access to the double garage. The closet near the laundry room will provide space for family clothing and gear. The master suite overlooks the back garden and includes a roomy ensuite and walk-in closet. Double sinks in the ensuite will ease the morning rush hour, and a tub offers an alternative to the shower stall. The children will have to draw straws to choose bedrooms - the larger one contains its own walk- in closet, as well as a window seat. Both secondary bedrooms face the front garden, and share a three-piece bathroom that includes a towel cupboard. A linen closet is located near the staircase. The plans include a 358 -square -foot bonus room, located over the garage, which would be ideal as a home office or studio. This home measures 64 feet wide and 51 feet, two inches deep, for a total of 2,286 square feet. Plans for design 1-3-654 are available for $758 (set of 5), 5856 (set of 8) and $917 for a super set of 10. Also add 530.00 for Prionty charges within B.C. or $55.00 outside of B.C.
