Exeter Beauties bust a move

What began as a challenge of two
friends wanting to start up a weight loss
group has resulted in more than $30,000
for London's llust A Move's breast can-
cer fundraiser.
Susan t ltryter Riddle was still pretty
excited about last weekend's Pink on
Rink event at six arenas, when she
spoke with the Lakeshore Advance.
Proceeds going to breast cancer and

neat' and dear to this Exeter woman's
ileums.
Pink on the Rink was the brainchild
of i leather Wells and ‘vitll the support
of South Iluton Minor 1Jockev they
hosted 52 teams for a weekend tourna
mens January 12-1.1.
Exeter Beauties is 1tavter Riddle's
group and Jodi Schilhe is the captain of
Fatty Pattys. They began Inst spring as
two weight loss groups of 20 scant mem-
bers each. That has blossomed to 50
team members each. They challenge
each other and the last challenge
resulted in the loss of more than 500
pounds collectively. When Wells began
planning the Pink 00 the Rink event
l layter Riddle wanted to get on hoard
with the Beauties and raise some
money for cancer research. She says
two of her members are battling breast
cancer.
For the weekend tournament the
Beauties baked dozens and dozens of
"booby cupcakes" and sold them for a
dollar each. Not only did the partici-
pants buy, local businesses were buying
dozens of the treats. This group also had
a bottle drive and last weekend the

a Move for Breast 1lealth London is
one of several Bust a Move events
taking place in 2013 as part of a
national annual effort to chiller
Canadians to take their fitness to II.1
heights and raise funds to support
care, education anti equipment vital
to breast health.
At the heart of this event is the cause
of breast health. Through fundraising
efforts of participants and the generos-
ity of sponsors, more than $500,000 will
he directed toward imaging equipment
and patient comfort items to benefit
