Based on an on-line undercover inves- tigation, members of the OPP Child Sex- ual Exploitation Unit, Technological Crime Unit, Middlesex OPI' Detachment and London Police Service executed a search warrant at a Parkhill residence. Officers seized several computer systems that allegedly contain images of sexual abuse. 'lite Advance! learned the home is on Broad Street in the town's northwest area. The OPP announced that they arrested 44 -year-old Robert Jamie Smith of Parkhill. Smith is charged with two counts of Pos- session of Child Pornography, one count of Accessing Chilli Pornography and one count of Making Available Child Pornography. The accused was assigned a first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in London on January 24. Police gave no further details other than the investigation is continuing and that the raid took place on 'Ihursday, January 10. Two days earlier, a combined force of OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Provincial Weapons Enforcement Unit, Drug Enforcement Unit, Organized (;rinse Enforcement Bureau, 'tactical Response ()nit, West Region Canine, Mid- dlesex County OPP (:rime l)nit raided a property northeast of Parkhill. Police said that during the January 8 search of the residence on Cedar Swamp Road, they seized suspected marihuana with an estimated street value of $10,000, two firearms and what they referred to as "various weapons": Andrew Bartlett, :15, of North Middlesex is charged with five counts of possession of firearms while prohibited, two counts of breach of firearms regulation, four counts of unauthorized possession of fire- arm, two counts of knowledge of unau- thorized possession of firearm, possession of controlled drug for the purpose of traf- ticking and possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition. OPP said they also charged a female identified as 36 -year-old Tara Lynn Martin of London with possession of prohibited or restricted firearm/ammunition, two counts of breach of firearms regulation, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession of controlle ' )ug for the purpose of trafficking. Both parties were remanded into police custody pending an unspecified date for appearance in a London court to speak to the charges.
