The annual Con- servation Dinner, Auction and Gala supports conservation initiatives including educa- tion, accessible trails, stocking of fish for a family -friendly fishing derby, commemora- tive woods and other environ- mental projects not possible without public support. The charity gala dinner and auction has featured 18 spe- cial -guest hosts and emcees since it began in 1990. Prior special guests have included Terry O'Rourke, parent of a modern-day Canadian vet- eran; Kristylee Varley, radio broadcaster and volunteer with Canadian Aid for South- ern Sudan; John A. Similar to his predecessors, Brooks has achieved many impressive successes and will keep the event lively with his sense of humour, interesting stories, and wealth of local knowledge. Brooks began his career in public accounting, earning his CGA designation in 1986. He then moved to Coca-Cola Enterprises ulti- mately becoming a vice-pres- ident. In 2001, he became executive director of the Caned* Broadcasting Cor- poration's national sales organization and later general manager of media sales and marketing. Brooks was man- aging director of NHL Enter- prises' corporate marketing team before joining CGA Ontario in 2007 in his current role as CEO. In addition to his CGA designation, Brooks holds a chartered directors designation and is a fellow of the Certified General Accountants of (.allied (FOGA.) The fundraising charitable event is a partnership of the Exeter lions Club, Ausable Bayfield Conservation Foun- dation, and community vol- unteers, donors, and patrons. The dinner and auction Will be held on Thursday, April 19. 2012 at the South Huron Rec reation Centre in Exeter.
