Cur- rent members joined many friends who left the area but were able to come back for the anniversary. 'There were 25 origi- nal members present. Grand Bend members }.iz and Bob Putherbough got us off to a great start by cutting the cake. Reverend Grayhame Bowcott led the Society us in remem- bering members Bert Pullen and Audrey Tibbitts who had passed away in 2011. John Merkies spoke eloquently about the immense influence Founding Presi- dent, Bill Uniac, had on the community of Grand Bend. Merkies drew everyone's attention to the fact that Bill, and other charter members (many who attended the evening) worked diligently at getting this group off to an excellent start helping to make it the very active group it is today. Emcee Regine Switzer introduced, President, Cecily Boyle, who welcomed everyone and then spoke about the highlights of this years' activities. Joan Eagleson followed her most memorable recollections of the second decade of the Grand Bend & Area Horticultural Society. Shirley Andraza, a charter member of the Soci- ety, shared her memories of the first decade of their history.
