Ivan Norris played his Banjo, Gladys played piano with Betty Lou Norris relieving Gla- dys when she picked up her Accordion for the Polkas. George'Turner, as always was a favourite as he sang several solos for the crowd. Refresh- ments consisted of Delicious Ginger Molasses cookies courtesy of Queensway's Baking group & apple juice. Friends & family members who joined us contributed to Residents enjoyment of the afternoon. Staff Appreciation was the focus at Queensway October 3rd to the 6th with lots of treats available in the Staff Room throughout the week and a spe- cial ceremony & free draws held Thursday October 6th. Years of Service Awards recipients were; Five Years: Christine Ferguson, Jennifer Middleditch, Dianne McKenzie & Daryl Nicholls. len Years: Gail Parsons, Peggy Smith, Patti Jones. Fifteen Years: Wendy Parsons. Twenty five Years: Carol Finlay. The commitment, dedication & care evident in all Staff was celebrated and acknowl- edged as General Manager, Kathy Holdsworth & Mike Dickens, Director of Operations, from Cor- porate Office, addressed those present. Residents are anticipating the upcoming Fam- ily Thanksgiving Dinners scheduled for Sunday October 23rd with Nursing Home Residents and Guests dining at noon and Retirement Home Res- idents & Guests enjoying their meal at 5:30 p.m. A traditional meal of Roast 'flukey, dressing and all the trimmings along with fruit salad & Pumpkin Pie & topping will be served. Queensway will bid farewell Tuesday October 18th to Rev. Marybeth Wilson, Pastoral Care vol- unteer at Queensway for the last four years. Rev. Marybeth has provided pastoral care each Tues- day afternoon to several Residents, as well as leading Memorial Services quarterly, a •ori that the lives of those that pass on are h( / '1 and their Queensway family comforted'. R Marybeth will be moving on to the Ottawa area and is looking forward to being nearer to family. Our thanks to her congregations at Brucefield & Kippen United Churches for sharing her with us.
