good old days, celebrate museum's 25th anniversary

tion Centre
The Arkona lions Club's popular
annual classic car show and cointnu-
nity day is going to be bigger than ever
on Saturday, September 17 as the
Arkona lions Museum and Informa-
tion Centre celebrates its 25th anni-
versary and the car show celebrates
its seventh anniversary.
'the museum, and the car show, are
located at beautiful Rock Glen Con-
servation Area in Arkona. 'the conser-
vation area is home to majestic Rock
Glen Falls and the museum there
attracts visitors from around the
world to see its extensive displays of
fossils (many donated by 1fldi Baxter)
and indigenous artifacts. The Sep-
tember 17 event will feature special
activities marking the 25th Anniver-
sary of the museum. Details will be
announced in the coming weeks.
The Arkona Lions and Lioness
chubs sponsor the Classic Car Show
and Community Day and, along with
Ausable Hayfield Conservation
Authority (ARCA), provide the public
with a ram chance on September 17
to visit the world-renowned conser-
vation area free of charge.
There will likely be close to 200
classic cars at this year's anniversary
celebration, according to event co -
organizers Bruce Redman and Cliff

man. "The Classic Car Show and
community day at Rock Glen Conser-
vation Area gives families and indi-
viduals the chance to travel back in
time by seeing beautiful classic cars,
majestic waterfalls, and a world-
famous collection of fossils and arti-
facts, said Redman.
The September 17 event isn't just
about nature and classic automobiles,
though. It's about community and
