Lakeshore Advance
Lambton County Ontario Provincial
Police (OPP) responded to 436 calls
for service in the County over the May
24th long weekend, from 6:00 am on
Friday May 20, through to 6:00 pin on
Monday May 23,.
236 of those incidents occurred in
Grand Bend.
Charges laid in Grand Bend are as
follows:

Personation with intent
On May 22, shortly after
8:00 pm, a male with open
liquor was arrested on
Woodward Avenue for
failing to identify himself.
Ile fled from the officer, and
was subsequently located
and re -arrested. 19 year old
Matthew SHEsLLE?Y of
Tecumseh, Ontario was
charged with escape lawful
custody, personation with
intent -w intent to gain
advantage, and fail to
comply with undertaking or
recognizance contrary to
the Criminal Code of
Canada, Ile will be
appearing in a Sarnia court
to answer to the charges.
Liquor Licence Act
In the early morning
hours of May 23, 2011,
police observed a male fall
over in the loading bay at
the Beer Store on Ontario
Street. The 19 year old male
froth Windsor, Ontario was
extremely intoxicated. Ile
was arrested, charged under
the Liquor Licence Act for
being intoxicated in a public
place and transported to the
Grand Bend OPP
detachment.
Prohibited
()PP officers stopped a
vehicle at a RIDE: check on
May 21, at approximately
1:30 pm, The 28 year old
male from Georgetown,
Ontario was unable to
produce a driverAfs licence,
It was determined that he
was prohibited from driving
in Canada and was charged
for driving disqualified
contrary to the Criminal
Code of Canada. Ile will be
appearing in a Sarnia court
to answer to the charge.
Assault
OPP officers responded to
a report of an assault which
occurred on May 21, at
approximately 11:00 pm on
Elmwood Avenue. A 19 year
old male victim was
assaulted and went to
London Health Sciences on
his own with non life
threatening injuries. The
Lambton Crime Unit
continues to investigate this
incident.

approximately 5:30 pm, a 40 year old
male driver was arrested for driving
while disqualified. Ile was suspected
to be under the influence of drugs and
was subsequently evaluated by a drug
recognition officer. Sonny YOUNG
was charged contrary to the Criminal
(:ode of Canada with driving
disqualified, obstruct a police officer,
public mischief, take motor vehicle
without owner consent, breach
recognizance - operate motor vehicle,
and breach recognizance - ingest non-
prescribed drug. Ile was further
charged with use plate not in
accordance with Act and drive motor
vehicle, no validation on plate,
contrary to the highway 'Traffic Act,
Ile was released and will appear in
court in Sarnia.
Intoxicated
Police responding to a break and
enter in progress to a commercial
business on Main Street on May 20,
2011 at approximately 7:00 am, found
a 21 year old intoxicated male sleeping
on the floor• 'Ihe mile, from Windsor,
Ontario, was arrested and charged
under the Trespass to Property Act for
entering the premises, and being
intoxicated in a public place contrary
to the Liquor Licence Act.
Possession
While on foot patrol at
approximately 9:30 pm on May 20,
2011, officers located two people in
possession of a small quantity of
marijuana in a parking lot on
Government Road. A 25 year old male
was arrested. Ile and a 30 year old
male, both from Chathatn, Ontario,
were charged with possession under
30 grams contrary to the Controlled
Drugs and Substances Act. 'Ihey will
be appearing in the Sarnia courts.

A 28 year old male from London,
Ontario in a parking lot on
Government Road was found with a
