The Women's Probus of Grand Bend recently celebrated their 10th anniversary with a wonderful luncheon at Hessenland. In attendance were many of the past presidents, Mr, John Flood representing the national Probus, plus ladies of the Grand Bend club. Pat Billington did an exemplary job directing this festive occasion which was very much enjoyed by all. The AGM and final meeting of this season will be held on Tuesday June 14th at 9:30 am Grand Bend Legion with September 13 as the opening meeting for the 2011-2012 season. Michael l loare has been appointed a director of the Erie -St, Clair Local Health Integrated Network (1.1IIN) by Order -in -Council of the Public Appointments Secretariat of the Province of Ontario. The Erie St. (;lair 1.111N is one of 14 1.1 IINs across the province that plan, integrate and fund local health services including the Grand Bend Area Community I Iealth (;enure. "I am honoured to be appointed to the 1.1HN board and look forward to the contributions which 1 can make to good governance and, ultimately, to the excellence of health services in the region," says Dr. Hoare. A director of the Grand Bend Area Community I Iealth Cent . (GBACI IC) for the past six years, Ur. Hoare served as Its Chair from 2007 to 2010. "Michael has been a great asset to the Centre," says 1)r. Glenn Bartlett, Executive Director of the GBACI I(:. "Ills appointment to the 1.111N hoard is very deserving, and 1 know he will continue to make a significant contribution to local health care." Dr. Hoare resides in Grand Bend with his wife Marianne. He has led a diversified career in health and human services within the military, post -secondary education, human resources, and consulting. Dr. Iloare has been employed as a professor, counsellor, and clinical co-ordinator, retiring as the Dr. Michael Hoare Dean, I lealth Sciences and Human Services at Fanshawe College. Members of the 1,111N board are selected using a merit -based process, in which skills and abilities are matched to the needs of the board. Directors must combine relevant expertise, experience, and leadership skills with an understanding of local health issues, needs and priorities. The Erie St. Clair 1.IIIN and its Board of Directors are responsible for approximately one billion dollars of health care services delivered in the regions of Chatham -Kent, Sarnia- I.ambton and Windsor -Essex.
