unprompted call regarding problems with her computer

new ones coming along.

Children's fishing derby
The Huron County OPP, Ontario Provincial Police
Association, OPPA Branch Six, Ontario Police Association,
Huron Fish and Game Conservation Association, Food
Basic's (Goderich) and Falls Reserve Conservation Area are
pleased to announce a children's fishing derby on Saturday,
May 28th, 2011 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Falls Reserve
Conservation Area pond in Benmiller, Ontario.
The purpose of this event is to invite area youth and their
guardians to a day of social interaction with the area law
enforcement and emergency personnel. Yes, it's that
simple. There are no hidden agendas. We will be seeking the
assistance from some of our specialty units to be present
and answer any questions. We also plan to have emergency
services equipment on hand for the youth to view.
Each youth, no older than 16 years of age, will be required
to pre register. We also ask that those attending try to supply
their own fishing equipment and bait, be accompanied by a
guardian if required, and wear a personal flotation device
while fishing. Several responsible volunteers will be in
attendance, and if the availability of fishing equipment
becomes an issue, equipment will be on hand to assist. A
lunch and beverages will be provided to the youth at no cost
courtesy of local merchants, To register, please call
519-524-8314.
According to Bob Izurni, it's only natural that the Police
are involved with helping children. "Police officers spend
their entire careers protecting children," states Izumi.
"Events like the one in Goderich are a perfect way for kids to
learn that these dedicated men and women care about
there as individuals, not as potential young offenders,"

7hlnk safety first
The Lanlbton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPT') is
reminding boaters to "'Think Safety First" when out enjoying
the lakes and rivers.
As we gear up for another boating season, the OPP is
asking boaters to take some precautions while out on the
water.
Always wear your lifejacket or Personal Floatation Devic
(PFTs), Tim Ives, the Sergeant in charge of Marine with the
Lambton OPP says, "Lifejackets or PFI)'s are of no use to
you if they are in the boat and you are overboard and in the
water." if you have an inflatable PEI) be sure you are familiar
with their operating instructions.
Don't drink and boat. Operating your vessel with open
liquor or while impaired is against the law, if you are
caught, you will be fined at best or if impaired you will lose
your pleasure craft operator's privilege and your driver's
license.
Familiarize yourself with the boat you are operating.
Check the condition of your vessel and the equipment on
board to be sure everything is in good working order for the
boating season.
Before you leave the dock, make sure you are equipped
with the necessary safety equipment for the size of vessel
you are operating. A lifejacket or PFI) that is the appropri-
ate sire for each person an board, a sound signaling device,
a bailing device, a watertight flashlight or flares and a buoy-
ant heaving device are only a few of the items that you must
carry with you. Always refer to the Marine Safety tab on the
Transport Canada website for specifics related to your
vessel.
Environmental conditions can change very quickly and
water can become unpredictable. Know your limits and If
conditions become unsafe, get yourself to a safe location.
The Lambton County ()PP will begin patrolling the local
waterways this weekend and will continue to do so through-
out the summer and into the fall.
Sergeant Tim Ives says, "bets work together to make this a
safe boating season for everyone. 'think safety first!"
