The (;rand fiend Optimist Club have
changed gears this year for their big
summer fundraiser and will present
Drive n' Jive to take the place of the
popular Burgerfest. This group has
organized the Burgergest with great
success, but (decided to try something
new for 2011.
They have regrouped and are excited
to offer an event that will appeal to a
broad audience. And so, a car show,
dinner and dance will be presented on
the beach June 18th. 'Ihe car show will
be housed at the King Street Parking lot
with non-food vendors and the dinner
and entertainment by the Decades will
be In a tent at the municipal parking lot
south of the condos,
The plans of this group is to register
about 100 cars . 'There will be free
admission for the general public to see
the car show from 11:30-5:30. There will
be tickets sold for the catered dinner
and Fifties -Sixties dance. The licensed
bar area will be open during the day.

proceeds go back to local youth and

inspiration
The Huron Perth Providers Council held their Healthcare
Inspiration Awards event In Mitchell on May 10. The
event was held In conjunction with National Nurse's
Week. Awards were given out in four different categories
for each a registered nurse, registered practical nurse
and personal support worker. Here Martha Craig accepts
her Innovation Inspiration Award from Laura Overhold,
manager of HealthKlck, and Debbie Dlechert, Alzheimer
Society of Perth County.
