30 years of the Scatchard Classic

In 1991 the Oakwood Inn celebrated
three milestones. It was the facility's
70th year, the Scatcherd Classic's 10th
and the grand opening of their new
convention centre and lodge.
More than 300 golfers attended that
year and NISI. hockey player John Fer-
guson was welcomed. Proceeds from
this tournament helped purchase a spe-
cially equipped van for the Scatcherd
Centre for the Developmentally Chal-
lenged in London. The (:entre offered
nursery school programs for develop-
mentally and physically challenged
children. Fifty-six youngsters aged two -
six attend the program.
This event was not only golf for this
tournament but Oakwood also spon-
sored a tennis tournament at the same
time.
The lune 7-8 2011 tournament will
celebrate the 30th year and David
Scatcherd's 75th birthday.

• remove the tap aerators off your taps and flush all the house
lines until the water runs clear.
• flush out your hot water tanks. This is to remove the
accumulated iron that precipitates out in the tank; this iron
may also decrease the efficiency of your water tank.
You may experience lower than normal pressure as a result of
the flushing activities.
We recommend that you avoid doing laundry on these days to
avoid the risk of possible stains.

83 Golfers turned out for a round of golf at Oakwood inn
Resort Men's Golf League on Thursday's May 12, 2011. The
scores were as hot as the weather. Sam Semple won Hight A
with a 33, Nick Regli won Flight B with a 37, Dave Greene
won Flight C with a 39, and Wayne Bannon won Flight 1)
with a 45. The rest of winners follow - net scores are
rounded.
