A nice meeting was held at
the rest home on May 3,
when the ladies auxiliary
held its meeting with musical
entertainment provided by
1larvey Smith from Exeter
and friend Bruce from Mitch-
ell. 'their wives accompanied
them. The members and two
honourary members
attended the business. Stacey
Pfaff handed out the May cal-
endar of events for the resi-
dents and went over the tuck
shop cart results along with
Marlene (;ingerich who gave
us an update. She said it was
very successful. A new (:l)
player and perm rods were
bought for the beauty shop
with some of the profit from
the tuck cart. Anyone want-
ing to held with this on 'Tues-
day mornings for a couple of
hours twice a month please
call Marlene at 519-236-4788,
\Ve were invited to the annual
volunteer recognition event
on tune 13 to be held at the
Mennonite Church at 6:30
p.m, Special speaker will he
Michael Lewis. Hilda Lands-
bergen gave the treasurer's
report and displayed the
lovely quilt we purchased
from the Quitter's Guild for
the Bean Festival in August.
Once again the ladies auxil-
iary thank the home for tak-
ing care of paying for our
booth at the Bean Festival. it
is greatly appreciated. 'Iickets
were handed out to sell and a
get -well card was passed
around for Martha Craig who
was recently in the hospital.
Mary Ducharme sent out
six sympathy cards and deliv-
ered 16 birthday cards to the
residents since out last meet-
ing in February.

on August 2 at (1:30 p.m.
The students at St. Boni-
face school recently gath-
ered in the gym to watch
John Earle shave their prin-
cipal, Mr. Mike Brittle's head.
There was a lot of cheering
4s this event celebrated the
.faising of $2,000 for
Leukemia.
The scrap booking week-
end was held at the Dash-
wood hall from April 29 - May
1 with a good attendance
from various places.

Grade two students at St.
Boniface School will be mak-
ing their First Communion
on Sun., May 15 at 2 p.m. On
Mon., May 16, Grades 7 and
8 will be slaking Confirma-
tion at 7 p.m.

Bean Sprouts Nursery
School is holding their 3rd
annual Spaghetti Supper at
the Zurich Con)nlunity (en -
(re on Mav 10 from 5-7p.m.
Part of the proceeds go the
Blue \Vater Rest }tome. Also,
Beaus Sprouts Nursery School
is holding an open house on
)tole 8 for ages -4 to come
and see what nursery school
is like. It runs from 9:30 -
10:3() a.m. and parents must
accompany their child.
Be sure and see the Zurich
Public School play, "Grease
tr." running from May 11 - 13
at 7 p.In. each night. The
tickets are $6 at the door.
The Ilensall village yard
sale will he held on May 28.
'Ile day kicks off with a Fire-
illall'S Breakfast.
The Toy Bus comes to the
Lutheran Church hall in
Zurich every Tuesday morn-
ing from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Sev-
eral small children along
with their moms or babysit-
ters have fun together sing-
ing, playing gaggles and
doing simple crafts.
Sometime Soon there will
be a brand new vehicle roll-
ing around our community
- TILE. Bus! The Community
Connections Outreach Serv-
ices Bus will be traveling to
the Queensway Nursing and
Retirement I tome on ihurs.,
May 12 for a Spring Fling
Luncheon. On Fri., May 13,
it wilt be traveling to Docks
in Bayfield for Lunch. A trip
to Wal0)al t in Goderich is
scheduled on May 19 and
the Quilt Festival in Ailsa
Craig on May 26. On May 27,
a trip to Forest is planned.
