On the back nine -30 years
of the Scatchard Classic

David Scatcherd has
known Jim Masse, Bayview
Golf Club co-owner for dec-
ades and is proud to call
him a friend. Except for
maybe one year, Masse has
attended the Scatcherd
Classic every year and
played on the Scatcherd
team every time. Having
his own charity tourna-
ment to benefit the neo-
natal intensive -care unit
for five years, Masse
knows how important
these tournaments are
and helps out many local
charities at Bayview.
With many celebrities
over the years, the annual
event also boasts hundreds
of local celebrities, and
Masse fits that bill.
Bayview is a par 72 18 -hole course, with
a total yardage of 6315, so gets Tots of
practice before Scatcherd's annual tour-
nament. Golfer Rick Maguire says he has
great memories of past tournaments with
Masse and Scatcherd.
