Sleeping
Children Around
the World (SCAW),
a Registered
Canadian Charity,
was founded by
Murray Dryden in
1970. His mission
was to give needy
children in devel-
oping'and underde-
veloped countries
the comfort of a
good nights sleep,
.thus giving them
hope to face their
everyday chal-
lenges. With
SCAW 100 per
cent of every bed -
kit donation
reaches the child.
The organization i3
operated by volun-
teers who assist in
processing the
donations and dis-
tributing the bed -
kits.
Volunteers in the
country of distribu-
tion select the chil-
dren with the great-
est need, usually
between six to 12
years of age. These
hardworking, com-
mitted overseas
volunteers include
community service
groups such - as
Lions Club, Rotary
Clubs, Salvation
Army etc. They
