On Tuesday, fed steers and heifers sold $2 lower. Choice steers and heifers sold 83.00 - 87.00 with sales to 88.00. Second cut sold 80.00 - 83.00. Cows sold on a strong trade at prices $1 higher. On Thursday, Holstein veal sold on a strong active trade. Beef veal sold steady and heavy Beef veal sold $2 - $5 lower. Lambs and sheep sold on a steady market. Sheep sold on a steady market. Nanny and billy goats sold steady while kid goats sold steady to the • week's decline. On Friday, calves sold steady and yearlings sold on a steady market. There were 174 steers on offer. There were 112 heifers on offer. - There were 276 cows on offer. A delicious lunch was prepared and served. Kudos ++. Hot off the press: it was heard that at least two of the ladies were thinking of opening up an eatery here in town. A big thank you to all involved: The Alzheimer's Coffee Break fund-raiser held at the Lucknow Presbyterian Church last Thursday raised- $200 in support of the Alzheimer's Society. Coffee; tea and muffins . were served to those who attended. Wow what a weekend. The Lucknow Fall Fair was enjoyed by all. The weather co-operated so everyone could enjoy the out- door activities. Congratulations to all the young ladies who par- ticipated in the Lil' .Miss and Ambassador competitions Friday evening. The parade on: Saturday was excellent and enjoyed by all. An excellent number of people attended the annual fall fair church service held in the arena on Sunday morning with all three denominations participat- ing. Prior to the church service, many enjoyed the fall fair break- fast. The Lucknow Legion Pipe Band will be participating in the Ripley Fall Fair parade this Saturday . at noon. Drop in shoot winners for Sept. 14 were Elaine Errington, Velma Morningstar, Nancy Radke and John Harris. Most shoots was Lenore Glenn and Grace Finnigan. Lucky draw winners were Ute Koebel, Mary McIntosh and Harold Elliott. Brother Bear entertains the kindergarten class while teatime, Ms. Liddle read them a story about how Sister and Brother Bear catch the bus just in time. Cheers to everyone in the community who cameout to support the Lucknow Agricultural Fair. It was indeed a great success due to all the volunteers, committee members, service clubs, and e>bitors. The parade w2is just fan- tastic. It just goes to show if everyone does a little, it makes for a great show.
