Richmond Hill family take Lucknow as their second home

Greg Beros and
his family look at
Lucknow as their
home away from
home. The 100 -
year -old Victorian
house at 408
Havelock Street
has- been in the
family for many.
years and now
Greg and his fami-
ly enjoy the home
all year round.
Beros is a coup
cillor for Ward 1 -
Oak Ridges in the
Town of Richmond
Hill and he and his
family travel back
and forth from
there to Lucknow
throughout the
year, as a way of
getting in touch
with small town
community.
"My fimily and I
love it up here,"
said Beros. "I have
a. daughter,
Halmah, who is 10 -
years -old who
loves it and 10 -
month -old son
Jesse who 1 know
will love it when

enjoys how relax-
ing it is when he
and his family
come to visit. They
find there is a lot to
do within
Lucknow and area.
"There's just so
much to do in the
area. Just from my
house 1 can walk
with my slaughter,"
said Beros. "We
can go to the ball
diamonds and
throw the ball
around, there's the
tennis court,
there's a pool, a
hockey arena.
What else could
you ask for, it's just
great."
As a councillor,
Beros' schedule
has made hirn a lot
busier and the fam-
ily isn't here as
• much as they used
to. It .used to be
that he and his
family came up at
least once a month.
However, it makes
their visits more
enjoyable each
time his family is
able to spend a few
days in the Sepoy
village.

for each other and
he would like to
bring that warm
feeling Of commu-
nity back to his
area. As a council- ,
lor he- realizes how
important commu-
nity pride is in
making any area
better.
"When I come

"So when I go back
to my councillor
job in Oak Ridges,
I know in my mind
that Lucknow is
what we are trying

Beros has always
been very involved
in the Lions Club
and has a great
appreciation when
he sees them thriv-
ing in small town
communities.
Beros and his
family will look to
continue the tradi-
tion of coming to
Lucknow for a
long time and it's a
place where they
know they are wel-
come always.
