Marian Raynard led a bench dedication service at the Kinsmen
Park Friday night in memory of Tara (Tart) Chatham from
Bervie who died in a car accident this past spring. She played
third base for the Swift Hits team. Friends and family raised
funds to purchase the bench in her memory. The Swift Nits
played in the 2009 championship games on Saturday at the.
Kinsmen Park.
Wingham Golf Club
On Saturday
Aug.. 22 the
Wingham Golf and
Curling Club were
host to a group
from Lucknbw.
The family of
Walter Arnold and
friends enjoyed a
round of golf and
lunch at the club.
Sunday Bernie
Bailey's group
came out to play
the Bailey Cup, a
nine hole scram-
ble. The .gals and
guys many of who
where new golfers
had: a good time
and have, t already
reserved a day for
the event - next
year.
The Tuesday
night ladies just
had around a
dozen girls out
mainly due to the
Wilma Kerr over
fifty tournament
held in the after-
noon. Fern Wiley
came out the win-
ner with a 48,
Sylvia Pewtress
and Carol Clark
tied for second.
Wednesday was
Bull Day at the
Wingham golf
club.. The day start-
ed with . a rain
shower that scared
some of the early
tee times away but
it turned out to be a
beautiful sunny
day. The golfers
came from all
areas of south
western Ontario
and had many pos-
itive remarks about
the great condition
of the course.
The Thursday
night men again
broke another
record for golfers
for the second time
this . month 62
took advantage of
the great weather
and the group con-
tinues to get bigger
and better every
week. The winners
were closest to the

The weather
man didn't cooper-
ate with the . party.
on the patio night
Friday but 15 local
couples came into
the clubhouse and
enjoyed some
music and a barbe-
cue with salad
lunch. The staff are
looking forward to
family and social
events • in the
future.
This past
Saturday ,the club
held it's fifth annu-
al Lefty/Righty
tourney with the
lefties winning
back the trophy
with a 10 to eight
win. The left. han-
ders now hold a
four to one advan-
tage.
