The art of photography coming to Wingham Community Living
Lloyd Carter and
Bill Kirton, who
are both supported
by Community
Living Wingham,
will be featured in
Inspiring
Possibilities, a
major photograph-
ic exhibition pro-
duced by
PhotoSensitive, in
partnership with
Community
Living.
Inspiring
Possibilities con-
tains over 60 pho-
tos of people sup-
ported • by
Community Living
agencies through- "
out Ontario. The
exhibition illus-
trates how people
with an intellectual
disability are
rejecting life in , an
institution and are
leading fulllives
inthe community,
with the support of
Community
Living.
PhotoSensitive
photographers
travelled to 25
Community Living
agencies through-
out Ontario, from
Toronto to
Thunder Bay,
Renfrew to Essex
County. The
inspiring images
show people lead-
ing far more inde-
pendent lives than
would have been
possible only a few
short decades ago.
• Photos include
people at work, at
home, at camp- and
at play, being
cared for and giv-
ing back to the
community
through volunteer
work.
Each one is
a testimony to how
Community Living
inspires possibili-
ties.
:Inspiring
Possibilities will
be showing at the
Allen Lambert
Galleria in
Brookfield Place,
181 Bay Street,
Toronto from April
7 to 17.
Admittance is free.
The show will then
travel around
Ontario, visiting
the towns and
cities of the agen-
cies that are fea-
. tured within it.

There are over
100 Community
L i v i n g
Associations in
Ontario providing
service and sup-
port to people with
an intellectual dis-
ability. Our mis-
sion .is that each
person has the
opportunity to
achieve their goals
with support that
maximizes their
independence and
ensures they are
valued and partici-
pating members of
the community.
PhotoSensitive,
a not-for-profit
collective of pro-
fessional photog-
raphers, has been
using the power of
photography to
bring about social
change for almost
20 years. Previous
exhibitions . have
covered topics
such as homeless-
ness, AIDS/HIV,
child poverty and
cancer.
The organization
draws upon the tal-
ents of dozens of
award-winning
photographers, all
of whom donate
their time and cre-
ativity.
