The Lancers went into the weekend with a 2-0 series lead, but dropped two out of the three weekend games to hold onto a one game lead. In game three on March 27, things. got away from Lucknow as they lost to Durham by a score of 9-5. Lucknow bounced back in game five at home Saturday March 28 against the Thundercats by handing them a decisive 8 - 4 loss. Scoring for the Lancers in game four were Russ Sutton, Brad Burton, Ryan Murley, Jonny MacKinnon, James Mann 2 and Mark Stanley. Assists came from MacKinnon 2, Luke Drennan, Murley 2, Rick Andrew 3, Stanley, Burton, Erol Kahraman, Drew Fidler, Brian Stanley and Kyle Quinn. In game five on March 28, Paul Brown gave Durham a 2 - 1 lead at 1:15 with Chris .King and Brad Cripps assist- ing on the goal. James Mann tied the game for Lucknow at the 5:00 mark with Kyle Quinn and Brian Stanley assisting • on the goal. Durham regained the lead at 10:55 on the power -play when Jeff Rahn scored. Lucknow picked up two power -play goals 14 seconds apart at 17:30 and 17:44. Brain Stanley had the first goal on a two man advantage with Rick Andrews and Ean Moffat assisting on the goal. Murley picked up the second power- play marker with Rick Andrews assisting on the goal. The only goal in the third period came off the stick Jason. Howes of Durham at 7:19 with Jeff Rahn and Rob LeBlanc assisting on the goal. In overtime, Durham's Jeremy Rahn scored at 3:03 to give the Thundercats the win. At the stretch break the junior leaders led the.: members in a game of Knights, Horses and Cavaliers. Members then took turns reading aloud about maps. They learned that . they could find high points of land from topographical maps and how to read them. The members. cut up cones to show how topographical maps worked. As an introduc- tion 1 to judging,; members worked in groups to judge hiking shoes. Ellen then talked to the junior members about the requirements of the club and Eile'en spoke to the senior members about their project. Mary Ellen closed the meeting with the motto and the club enjoyed snacks. The next meeting is on April 3 at the Jeffersons for a hike.
